Electric vehicles are kind of a hard sell for a lot of people, especially for those who consider themselves to be ‘petrolheads’, for so many reasons; they don’t believe they’ll be powerful enough, they worry about being able to charge them and they just plain worry that the technology isn’t there yet. Here are a few reasons why they’re wrong, and why, when you’re buying your next car, you should go electric or go home:
They’re Great for the Environment:
This, sadly, doesn’t seem to be the biggest selling point of electric cars – it just doesn’t matter to a lot of people that traditional cars are doing a lot of damage to the environment, but it is undoubtedly the most compelling reason to go electric, if not for yourself, for the future generations of your family.
They’re Time Savers:
One of the biggest worries about electric cars is that they’ll take a long time to charge (they won’t), so it’s kind of ironic to think that electric cars could actually save you time. How? Because you can charge them right there at home, You don’t have to drive to the gas station to fill up – you can juice up your car while you sit on the couch watching The Walking Dead!
When you have an electric car, the only kind of cleaning you need to worry about is which company is the best for cleaning wheels and where you’ll get the best wax. If there’s one thing that no one can deny about electric cars, it’s that they’re cleaner. Not only do they not pollute the environment in the extremely detrimental way that gas-powered vehicles do, but you don’t have to deal with pools of gas in the drive or similar spillages when you’re filling up.
It might not seem like a big deal, but the fact that electric cars are pretty quiet really should be made into more of a selling point. We all know how annoying it can be to drive a loud car that growls and rattles to the point that we can’t hear our favorite jams, especially when we’re making long journeys, well that really isn’t a problem when you go electric!
They Accelerate Fast:
If you’re the kind of driver that likes to have a little fun with your car, you’ll like the fact that the Tesla Model S P100D can accelerate from 0-60 faster than most other cars that have ever been made, and it can do that because it has instant torque and a very efficient engine, which is pretty impressive when you think about it.
They are Extremely Safe:
You might think that you need a big gas guzzling all-terrain vehicle to be as safe as possible on the road, but you’d be dead wrong. The Tesla Model S scored a 5.4 out of 5 in the National Highway Traffic Safety administration’s assessment, which basically means that it is the safest vehicle there is out there!
Time to make the change? I think so!
