Today, Facebook has allowed its users to help the site re-writing terms and conditions for its use. The site has announced its Facebook Principles and Statement of Rights and Responsibilities that have been designed to govern its operations.

Users have been allowed to review, vote and comment on these new Principles and the Rights and Responsibilities at the site and it will republish it after considering changes suggested by the users.

According to Mark Zuckerberg, “Our basic object is to make the world a lot more transparent and open at Facebook and we really want to set an example through this service.”

Facebook had to bear severe criticism when the company showed off its re-written terms and conditions earlier this month and many users realized infringement for their privacy and data control.

Today they have chalked ten new principles that include: Freedom for Sharing and Connecting, Free Flow of Information, Social Values, Fundamental Equality, Open Platforms and Standards, Common Welfare and One World.

While their new Statements of Rights and Responsibility is being stated as a wider range document to cover acceptable users’ behavior on Facebook. Significantly enough, their first section relates to labeled Privacy.
