We have all been pretty indulged in Apple’s news regarding iPhone since yesterday, when news about the IT world giant has been there. Microsoft Bing has gone live in the UK and is doing a great deal better than was expected.

While facing the hard competition with Google search, it is difficult to stand out and show that in the search world, something other than Google exists too. According to Hitwise, Bing was having 11 % of UK internet visits in its first 73 hours of going Live in the UK.

Average time that was spent on the Bing was around 8 minutes, which is pretty good news for Microsoft. The huge 11 % in the very beginning is a boost to MS’ morale because this is a percentage 3 times higher than the “share that Ask and Yahoo command put together.”

Perhaps, this was only out of curiosity that people were visiting the neonate search engine, as very soon, the percentage drowned down to a mere 3 %. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has a different stance on the time that Bing will take to secure its popularity; i.e. 5 years. Let us see how Bing proves itself in presence of Google’s monopoly.
