TwitPic Crosses 1m Users Barrier

Some recent Compete stats show that TwitPic.com sees 2.3m unique visitors every month that are, indeed, quite impressive figures and things are even more impressive ahead, as the site seemed to boast about signing up its 1m millionth user last night. Twitpic has emerged as a leader of the pack which enticing a considerable number of visitors with every passing day.
But there is a certain downside and has become a burden especially for one person who has been doing quite well to keep its service up for quite some time. Well, Noah Everett is finding it difficult to operate these days because its undergoing some significant hiccups. You can still access the site, but it’s not possible now to log in with your account, as direct links have gone dead for uploading photographs.
No word on the issue on TwitPic blog yet, however, a recent blog post narrates about moving to some new data center that will up its performance.
According to this blog post, thing are quite smoother now as data center move has been successfully completed now and this move will allow users to easily scale with the growth of Twitpic.
If the site fails to keep up this current growth, one thing is certain that sooner or later some will challenge its dominance in the playing micro blogging photo sharing arena.

Even though the popularity of TwitPic has increased manyfolds, the designing and the back-end is very weak as it is seen from the site’s frequent crashes, like the one on 1April, 2009 following the G20 strike in London.
With the users count touching 1million, it is high time that Noah Everret should start considering upgradation of the site.
