Sony has recently announced that they are going to release the next generation of e-books at IFA in Berlin which is going to get held later in this year. Look wise the new e readers will be a bit slimmer than the previously released models and among the exciting new features, the touch screen display is going to be the most prominent one.
According to the company “We expect to get some hands on time with the three new versions of the Sony Reader set to be revealed at IFA”, the company has also claimed that they will bring more clarity in their eBooks that are going to get released in Berlin.
This is known to everyone that Sony was the first company that brought this successful concept of e-Readers but nowadays some major competitors like Apple and Amazon are also progressing well in this category with their iPad and Kindle respectively.
Steve Haber, president of Sony’s digital reading unit discussed that “Lowering prices to get cheaper and cheaper — that’s not our direction. Our plan is not to race to the bottom” and further “People stepped up and spent another $100 to buy touch”.
The new e Readers by Sony are expected to be quite advance ones and then after that we’ll have to see what comes from the competitor’s side just to reawake the competition in this field.
