Sony PlayStation3 80GB is here, with a lot to offer comparing to the previous models 40GBs and 60GBs. priced at 299.99 pounds, is still 125 pounds cheaper than the original price. Another 160GB model is expected in November too.

Apart from the specs details, the console is a striking beauty lying horizontally, available in black color with a fingerprint and smudge-magnetic touch style. It is 12.8 x 3.8 inches x 10.8, a bit like Xbox 360. Weighing only 5kgs, the new console is a lot better than all the present gaming consoles.

It’s not just a gaming console as it comes with built-in media center. This feature adds to the potentials of PS3 80GB (HDD Capacity) installed in with INM’s magical Cell Processor. The games can be installed on the HDD so there’s no need of the slow Blu-ray drive to do the needful.

The interface is great too, as there are no loading screens at the backhand other than the startup screen. Connectivity levels in this console are high quality and up to the mark; 2 x USB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, Wireless. The Bluetooth device is compatible with all types of Bluetooth devices.

Bluetooth headsets, Bluetooth mobile connectivity, mice and keyboards, all are connectable and the player can easily enjoy communication with friends while playing.Vibration feature has also been included to enhance the gaming fun with Sixaxis DualShock 3 Controller. The original PS2 did not have the vibration feature which got a lot of up roaring. DualShock3 comes as default in PS3 80GB. Though the controller is wireless, up to 7 controllers can be connected via the Bluetooth, which has a claimed range up to 20 meters (approx. 65 feet) by Sony.

It comes with a USB charger; its cable is pretty shorter, only 5 feet long, meaning thereby that the player would be sitting just in front of the TV display screens. However, the cable can be increased in length or the charging can be done through USB connector. Battery time is not the issue as the battery juices up in 30 hours.

The battery cells however are irreplaceable. Once dead, are gone, the whole controller will have to be purchased to ‘keep the game on’. Instead, if the controller is used with the cable, it will live longer. Competitors Wii and Xbox 360, however, come with replaceable batteries.

The controller is improved too and the buttons are bigger than before. It is made action/move sensitive which upgrades the enjoyment levels.

Xbox 360 lacks Bluetooth, built-in Wireless B/G along with many other features. An evident differentiating feature between Xbox 360 and PS3 80GB is their media loading style. PS3 80GB comes with a cross media bar style (XMB) graphical user interface. Generally, it is a user friendly interface, but to reach the bottom level, one has to start from the top to reach the bottom.

The playback facility is remarkable and let you enjoy movies on PlayStation with complete satisfaction. It can work more than just a gaming machine. With an exotic look, PS3 80 GB is going to be the next market sweep.
