When it comes to glossy and nice laptop finishes, this is one area in which HP has been dazzling in the past few years. Now there is the HDX16-1005ea that has come up as another nice addition in its HDX line. The HDX16 is there with the similar high-gloss and this you wouldn’t find even an iota of outer surface without silver or high-gloss finish.
Aside from new flash decals, it has an entirely silver touchpad and a blue LEDs equipped media bar which is touch-sensitive.
Though it is another laptop based on Intel’s Centrino 2ndgen (with all talk of Intel low-power), the HDX16 seemed running with just over 2hrs when tested. You may hardly like this next-gen kind of battery feat, but this machine hasn’t been designed for such portability as gets out-and-out.
It features a nice 16” screen with 1920×1080 screen resolution that may move you to tears almost. You may have not found Windows Vista desktop ever so opulent and with its Blu-ray reader, the colors of the movie seem to leap off this screen.
When it comes to gaming, it is not a great story to tell, you can expect to play new games such as Fallout 3 at the resolution of 1280×720 of NVIDIA 9600M GT. When it’s about overall performance, you would find it quite similar to those that have been offered in systems with the same sort of specs.
It integrates a digital TV tuner, Aletec speakers and webcam that nicely prove it multi-media abilities. The Altec stereo speakers seem to do a good job for it and provide decent bass, but can’t be called a success at the high-end.
4GB memory, a powerful Core 2 Duo P8400 Intel processor and a nice 320GB drive space are some other rounding off features. Many may find them minimum with a higher price point.
