Sony Ericsson is in for the competition with its Xperia X10 Mini Pro. This small and tiny cell phone by Sony Ericsson will take you by surprise with its full QWERTY keyboard and features of a nice smartphone. This phone does not have to do much for being prominent; its tiny form makes it pretty prominent (paradoxically).

Let us have a look at its specs and features.

Specs:

90 x 52 x 17 mm

120 g

TFT capacitive Touchscreen 16M colors

Accelerometer sensor for UI auto rotate

3.5 mm audio jack

128 MB internal memory

2 GB microSD card included, expandable up to 16 GB

GPRS class 10

Wi-Fi

Bluetooth

USB

5MP camera with auto focus, LED flash and geo tagging

Android OS 1.6

Qualcomm MSM7227 600MHz

SMS, MMS, Email, Push Email, IM

HTML browser

Stereo FM Radio with RDS

GPS with A-GPS support

MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player, MP3/eAAC+/WMA/WAV player, TrackID music recognition, Digital compass, Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Document viewer, Voice memo, T9

Battery talk time up to 4 hours

Features:

Xperia X10 Mini was a nice phone indeed, but thee were some lacunas that had to be filled in the newer version. The company has taken the right step by introducing the Mini Pro in market as this latest mini phone fills up most of the lacks that Mini had created. The Mini Pro comes with a full QWERTY slide out keyboard which is absolutely an essential feature of a smartphone. It is as little as a phone with full QWERTY keyboard could be. Although we do not have a high end display here, but the picture is (overall) really nice and display is vivid. The front pane hosts three buttons for menu, back and home. To avoid accidental press, a quite flat power button is situated on the upper side. The phone is a small machine; and keeping this in mind the performance quality of its keyboard is outstanding.

The phone is running on Android 1.6 Cupcake, and the company is trying to upgrade it to Android 2.1 Éclair. At the four corners of home screen, the most used widgets have been placed. Though there is message composer, phonebook, music player and dial pad placed there by default, one can easily replace them with other widgets of one’s own choice.

The call quality and function is pretty nice, but we badly miss smart calling. The proximity sensor is a big hit that switches the touchscreen off while you hold the phone close to your face; in order to avoid clicks with cheeks. Unfortunately, one is unable to send images etc via Bluetooth; yeah this is actually true. Music and video players and video recording are of basic functionality and aren’t great. On the other hand, the FM Radio and camera are good.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

Ultra compact body

Slide out full QWERTY keyboard

Nice proximity sensor

Limitations:

Unimpressive QVGA resolution

Old OS version

No Bluetooth file transfer

No smart dialing

Unimposing music player, video player and video recording

When it comes to innovations and technological advancement then Sony Ericsson is the company which always remain on the top list of developers because the company’s releases always brings exciting new devices with not only extra-ordinary style but also out-class features and capabilities. The Mobile world congress that was held earlier this year, received some really awesome phones coming from the Sony Ericsson’s side, the one that is under review here in this article is also a fantastic handset released in the MWC 2010, it is the ‘Vivaz Pro’ which is actually a successor of the extremely impressive Swedish-Japanese firm’s flagship models the Satio.

With the sliding QWERTY keyboard, this phone is also said to be a business edition of the earlier Vivaz handset. The keyboard has though brought a bit of thickness to this handset but dimensions wise it is quite compact and nice. One of the feature which should be called as its main focus is the one touch HD video with continuous auto focus. The 3.2 inch screen size is also quite well for working on such Smartphones and the touchscreen makes the navigation quite a fun. Some of the key features which you’ll surely love about this phone are: aGPS, touch UI, Media Go, Face Detection, ActiveSync, Face Detection and many more. The details of the features provided in this handset have been provided in the section below.

Features:

This phone carries a 5.1MP camera which lets you efficiently capture the beautiful moments of your life and with that many fantastic features are provided for the picture which includes geo tagging, face detection, picture blogging, image stabilizer, smile detection, 4X zoom.

The most amazing platform for videos ‘YouTube’ is compatible with this handset and it gives you the freedom to share your videos with all the circle of friends in just few clicks.

Another nice feature is its accelerometer which lets you move in between the portrait and landscape mode by just rotating the phone.

The build in aGPS and with the other location based services like Google Maps and Way Finder this phone never makes you feel lost anywhere at any time. You can also add location info to your images with the help of geo tagging.

The Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync always keeps you in touch with others through Emails via fast and flexible synchronization.

The phone also lets you record videos in high definition for up to 720p and the fast video sharing also makes this activity a great fun for the users.

The enhanced MediaGo application makes it quite easy to bring your media with you anytime and anywhere. Now transferring media files between your PC and mobile is also no less than a fun.

Size: 109.0 x 52.0 x 15.0 mm

Weight: 117.0 g

The phone is thus a very nice new handset by Sony Ericsson which is considered to be perfect as a business mobile due to it’s out-class features. The 5.1MP camera is though less than the previous Vivaz’s 8.1MP camera but the advance image stabilization technology will not let you feel this limitation.

The android competition of the international mobile markets is getting more and more intense because all of the mobile phone developers have jumped into the Android competition with their fantastic Android phones carrying some really high class capabilities. It has been reported that Sony Ericsson has increased its lineup of Android Smartphones with two new Android phones. Both of the latest models are coming with 2.55inch capacitive touch screen display with a resolution of 240×320 pixels. The sliding QWERTY keyboard is another beauty of both these Smartphones that is making than bigger and heavier than the other Smartphones of the company.

The new application launched by the company for tracking text messaging, missed calls, facebook and twitter updates is also coming in these two phones and earlier it was available on the Xperia X10. Being an Android phone the handsets will also be focusing on some exciting pre installed applications like Maps with street view, talk and voice search. Some other excitements which you’ll be able to enjoy with the new handsets 5Mp camera with LED flash, 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, A-GPS and FM radio.
Sony Ericsson has finally launched its satio, a phone with huge multimedia support, touch screen facility and many others. The technology is quite new with some extra ordinary features. Sony Ericsson is always striving for performance and ease regarding the use of its cellular phones. From the past many years it is bringing the new launches into the mobile market and each one better and different from the other. The sleek body with fantastic features of the satio will definitely attract the fun lovers. Get music, movies, games, apps, ringtones, themes and endless fun for your phone and PC at PlayNow arena.

The main attractive feature of this phone is its light weight and smart style with the razor-sharp 3.5″, 16:9 ratio wide screens. Its touch screen is very well positioned and most of the functions are in the thumb’s reach.
Now coming to the main feature, 12-megapixel camera with its very fast shutter capturing a moving object is not a big deal. The focusing and the face detection mode are remarkably nice and you can even focus by tapping the screen. Skin tones are excellent, displaying tonal changes accurately and the Xenon flash works well too, easily illuminating indoor shots. However, indoors image noise creeps in, even when the sensitivity is as low as ISO 200. This Picture quality is the main reason for this mobile’s success. It’s a real crowd-pleasing feature and no doubt plenty of people will buy it purely on that basis.

There are some problems with this new generation mobile as well. The first and for most is its low internal memory storage and that is only 128mb storage but its 8GB SD card is also available. But this minute problem can’t make people oversee the plethora of advantages.

The most noticeable other feature is the Sony Satio’s compatibility with ‘Play Now’, a new online interface that allows users to personalize their Satio’s entertainment facilities. Anyone familiar with iTunes will no doubt notice Play Now’s uncanny resemblance. The interface within the Satio is simply stunning and Sony Ericsson has incorporated some fantastic visuals. Connectivity when using the Satio is made easy enough with the inclusion of built-in WiFi while Bluetooth facilities and a USB port makes sharing as easy as ever. It’s connectivity to the internet is also remarkable. Another exciting feature is its direct link with youtube and BBC itunes which helps in fast video sharing over the internet across the whole world.

It could be better said that anyone who wants his mobile to perform tasks better than the conventional digital cameras should buy new Sony Ericson satio for sharp capturing of photos and videos. The scenes which were kept unrecorded due to bad light will now be best recorded due to the Xenon flash. It is not just a phone it’s a full camcorder with having a very light weight and sleek and stylish outlook.

satio

Like any Android phone it is also Part of a big “open OS” push by the company, this new interface will make appearances on a number of future handsets, both of the Android and Symbian persuasion.

As previously rumored, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is based on a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 processor – being the second Android phone to use a Snapdragon platform, after the Acer Liquid A1. Another very beautiful feature is its 8.1 megapixel camera with auto focusing, LED flash, and best of all the auto tagging; this feature tags each photo of the same persons and provides you upon search.

In shorts we can say that Sony Ericsson has entered the Android war as a very strong contender and the Xperia 10 in quality and features is not less than any Android phone in the whole world. Sony Ericsson says about the X10 that it’s “the flagship phone in a family of phones coming to market during the first half of 2010”, so we should expect more Android handsets to be announced soon by the this company.

This is a great choice for operators for its 12.1 MP space. The market is thrilled to welcome this new machine in UK. The technology is brand new with some amazing devices packed in it.

Vodafone is the operator currently officially endorsing for Ericsson. With the Satio purchase there are going to be more at work with the new phone deals. Orange has so far denied tying deals with the Satio. But as time moves there are supposed to be more to be coming on the way.

Soon major companies like T-Mobile and O2 will be stocking up on the new deals with the Satio. There are going to be new camera MP that is loaded with the Xenon and the LED flash. There is going to be GPS provision with this cute model.

The touch display is going to be based on Symbian S60 edition with the new OS systematization.

There is also quite a high price attached to this hefty little device. But Vodafone is offering as high as £35 or £40 every month for the major contract of two years coming with their opening deal. The handset however comes for free. Orange has sort of denied any plans with the Satio price offer but when they do work they are expected to bring the same kind of price tag.

This phone looks more like a camera than an ordinary cell phone. It is a slider phone, which slides to expose a smart looking alpha numeric keypad. The 2.4” wide screen gives nice display. Also, the accelerometer is a good feature which automatically senses the motion of hands.

The most prominent and credible feature of this SE phone is its 8.1 mp camera equipped with Xenon flash. The picture taking experience is great; as the Cyber shot camera features face detection, smile detection and geo tagging. Users have a wonderful photography experience with this smart camera phone. Faces and smiles will be clearer than before, now. Smart Contrast automatically adjusts the balance of light and color.

It allows you to record videos or capture memorable moments and upload to your blog immediately. The Google Maps and Wayfinder Navigator (trial version) will help you find your paths with turn by turn instructions.
The media player and FM radio take it a step above than a mere camera phones. It has a fine audio quality while listening to calls. A 9 hour talk time is also something quite good.

A smart design
A wonderful 8.1 mp cyber shot camera
Wireless connectivity
GPS and AGPS

HSDPA

Limitations:

Is a simple phone and doesn’t have computer features.

Final Words:

Basically, the focal point is its camera. Camera quality is good enough to be the sole reason behind purchasing this phone. It isn’t a bad option at all.
