Plasma TV

Selecting Plasma, LCD or LED for your TV lounge or bedroom may become hectic or frightening if you do not have much knowledge or understanding with the current TV technologies. What should you buy, LCD HDTV or Plasma HDTV? Alternatively, you should go for luxurious that you feel that this LED will best suit your bedroom decoration. Selecting from plasma and LCD is much debatable topic and complicated too because of advance technology involvement. The tips mentioned below will help you to select the HDTV that is best suitable for you location and depending upon your needs.

Plasma TV screen is larger and superior in picture quality than LCD. LCDs have done a lot of business in market and these two technologies have captured the market. In this scenario, LED TVs are new comers but draw back is that they are much costly. Just imagine the technology of LED TVs. In upcoming days, LEDs will be as thin as you credit cards are. Most probably LEDs will dangle on you wall like wallpaper. This is not good to buy LED just now. Go for Plasma or LCD because these two have success stories in market. Wait until the LEDs TV become common market electronics and their prices drops too enough to support your treasure.

Plasma is a long run ahead from LCD for contrast ratio. Contrast ratio is the divergence between the darkest darks and whitest white. Revision of technology in LCD screens has much increased the contrast ratio but LCD is still behind to beat Plasma.

Focus your mind that what is you priority? If you want to use your TV for still images or second computer monitor then LCD is the best choice. Keep in mind that flat screen computers monitors are actually LCD based technology and they produce best results to view still images.

Plasma is successful for affecting images, such as fast scene movies, trail prospect movies. Plasma comes first. LCDs are good enough but they are still behind Plasma. Plasma has definitely edge over LCD. Plasma TV can be viewed from all sides. If your plasma has a small space to decorate then do not worry this did not really matter.

LCD and Plasma both have same lifetimes. The factor that depends upon is manufacturer. It means that what ever you are planning to buy, must underline the manufacturer rating. Do not run behind the manufacturer comments, some time they are false. To clear your mind read online reviews about the TVs. You must visit to view your selecting choice on local electronics stores.

Plasma TVs have shown their remarkable presence in large HDTVs. These large HDTVs have a size of 50 inches are higher. For brilliant quality, these big imaging devices have complex electronics engineering. This is good to buy plasma if you have decided for big picture. Manufacturers like LG and Samsung are delivering very large Plasma screen and they are proved good in quality.

LCDs are used with computer monitors because their power consumption is less. Therefore, those LCDs are popular with CPUs. Why this happens? Quite simple, Plasma TVs uses neon gas inside and more electricity is required to light it up. The consumption of LCD TVs is half than Plasma TVs. This is simply because the neon gas that is inside a plasma TV takes more electricity to light it up. The LCD TVs use about half the power generally.

Paying $ 2,000 or paying its double definitely makes a difference. Have a little bit survey before spending you money. Spending extra money on any model will show you the enough quality difference.

In the end, choosing the shining display technology depends upon your knowledge. It will better to have knowledge about the pros and cons with respect to you requirements and limitations.

When we talk about TVs these days, there no one who talks about conventional boxes; everyone wants to get an LCD or Plasma. HDTVs are also becoming a passion.
Price range: $1,569.83 – $2,095.00 (subject to variation according to time and location)

Features:

This 50” plasma is nicely priced and is equipped with pretty fine features as well. Whether it is about direct streaming from the internet through Ethernet port, or it is about viewing cherished moments’ still images from the SD card; your Panasonic TH-50PZ850U is the solution.

About the internet; once you plug the TV into the home network system, you will be able to access the online content that is delivered by Panasonic’s Viera Cast service. It includes YouTube, weather reports, Picasa, and Bloomberg. As we all know the original YouTube video size, this TV streams it in a bit smaller window than the 50” screen. If you wish to view the photos stored in an SD card, the TV has an option of it. You can even watch the videos from your SD cards provided their format is either AVCHD or MPEG2.

Fast moving subjects are the best testing point for big screens. Unfortunately, this TV shows pixels while showing fast moving objects. Also, the pixilation is quite of concern in long shots. There are other problems like reddish tones on Caucasian skin and a bad over scan while handling a 720p source.

Remote is nice, though not backlit. It is a long one with big buttons. Also, it is programmable. On screen menu is easy to use although not a pleasure to sight. Like image quality, sound is also adequate, and not above average. If audio factor is important to you, you might need external machinery.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

Direct video streaming from the internet via Ethernet port

Nice programmable remote

Easy to use on screen menu

Nicely priced for 50 inches

Limitations:

Average picture quality

Average sound quality

Remote is not backlit

Final Words:

This is one nice 50” Plasma HDTV that offers basically required features, and is a nice choice if too-good is not your priority.

HDTVs are in demand these days People love the clear pictures and better resolution images, and this is the reason they prefer HDTVs over conventional boxes. The quality a High Definition Television provides is unmatched, and usual TVs cannot equate them at all. Apart from the safety and health issues; the larger is a screen, the better is the experience. This is why large screen televisions are always loved by people; although most of the community cannot afford to buy one. Today, I have brought with me top 5 HDTVs with displays ranging from 50” to 55”. Though it addresses a small number of consumers; the article is informative.

1. Samsung PN50A760:

This is a 50” Plasma High Definition television, which delivers better image quality than any of its rivals.

Specs:

48.8” x 30.5” x 3.8”

102.5 oz

1 year limited warranty

1920 x 1080 maximum resolution

16:9 aspect ratio

49.9” viewable size

1000,000:1 contrast ratio

HDMI, RCA composite, and S-video input

Ethernet, serial-9 pin D-shell and USB interface

This is a $2500 Plasma HD television, with crisp and sharp imaging, outstanding color balance, fast motion handling, and remarkably wide viewing angle. It offers wonderful surround sound like a dedicated speaker system. In the input menu, priority is given to turned on attached devices so that the user doesn’t have to navigate through various nonattached not in use devices.

In the TV’s flash memory, there is a variety of multimedia options, like children activities, recipes, picturesque photos and exercises. Options for direct PC streaming through Ethernet port and viewing files from a USB flash drive are also available. Backlit remote control is programmable.
Product’s Unique Selling Points:

Great inbuilt multimedia features

Easy to use

Limitations:

It is expensive

2. LG Electronics 50PG30 50-inch Plasma:

It is a 50” Plasma HDTV with stylish design yet not so impressive image quality, and is inexpensive for its screen size, too. Sometimes it shows blurry moving images, vagueness and flat figures. The set up wizard and its optimizing options makes setup process quite easy. Menu icons are rationally placed, and they do not obstruct the picture because of being transparent. The quick menu option gives direct and easy access to frequent options like picture mode and sound mode. Also, the pop up selections put those sources on top of the priority list that are sending signals to the TV, when the button is pressed.

LG Electronics 50PG30 50-inch Plasma TV doesn’t have a backlit programmable remote; neither does it possess USB or SD card multimedia capabilities. Also, there is no picture in picture option.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

Very economical for its size

Nice on screen menu

Limitations:

No USB or SD card option

Remote is neither backlit nor programmable

No picture in picture option

Not a very fine image quality

3. LG Electronics 52LG70:

Much like the above mentioned sibling of it, the 52LG70 LCD has much advanced options than the previously mentioned.
Specs:

50.6” x 35.4” x 13.5”

90 lbs

1 year limited warranty

Multi language menu

Commercial sound leveler

Digital media playback

Progressive scan

Energy star compliant

HDTV built in tuner

1080i, 10180p, 480i, 480p, 720p supported

1920 x 1080 maximum resolution

52” viewable size

15000:1 contrast ratio

16:9 aspect ratio

52” screen size

HDMI, S Video, VGA input

Serial -9 pin D- shell and USB interface connection

It has 8 icons on main menu including input and USB. Though there isn’t any pic-in-pic mode; it has two optical audio outputs and four HDMI ports.

Simplicity of menu is same as of its sibling’s. Remote can be programmed, though it isn’t backlit. Overall picture quality is nice but pixilation and artifacts are common, specifically in fast moving objects and dissolves.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

Helpful on screen menus

Excellent sound

Limitations:

No picture in picture option

Image quality isn’t outclass

Remote isn’t backlit

4. Sharp Aquos LC52D85U:

Most important and significantly nice feature of Sharp Aquos LC52D85U LCD HD TV is its image quality.

Specs:

49.3” x 33.4” x 13:

62.8 lbs

1 year limited warranty

Energy star compliant

1920 x 1080 maximum resolution

52” viewable size

10000:1 contrast ratio

16:9 aspect ratio

2000:1 static contrast ratio

52” diagonal screen size

HDMI, S Video, VGA input

Serial -9 pin D- shell interface connection

This set is master at showing details of images. Artifacts, washed out colors, pixilation, and excess brightness are common. Sound is not great; do not anticipate much about it. Remote is not designed logically, and the tiny buttons are difficult to use. Remote is backlit, but not all the buttons glow when light is switched on. When the input button is pressed, all the available inputs get listed as “input 1” and “input 2” style whether they are attached or not. USB, SD card and Ethernet supported multimedia option cannot be found.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

Well placed side mounted connectors

Limitations:

Poorly designed menus

Useless backlighting of remote

5. Vizio VF550XVT:

Pretty inexpensive, this HDTV has a finely backlit remote that is also programmable. It shows heavy pixilation and color accuracy problem. Sound system suffers weak bass, and audio quality is not applaud-able. The on screen menu is quite unhelpful. Picture in picture and backlit remote are its good points.
A poor performer, but it is cheap, too.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

Nicely backlit remote
Picture in picture
Inexpensive

Limitations:

Poor performance

Low quality audio

The list ends here. You, now, have enough and adequate knowledge about large screen HDTVs, and can make a decision that which is the one for you.

In fact, the latest technologies which are purposeful always capture people’s hearts. High Definition Televisions belong to such technology which has offered better and clearer picture quality to the users. This is why; people want to have one such display mounted on their lounge walls. One such Plasma HDTV has been released by Hitachi and is named P50X902.

The main specs are as follows:

Specs:

1080p24

Three 24pHDMI inputs

Deep Color/x.v. Color Performance

PictureMaster HD VI Processor

Power Swivel Stand

Features:

The most significant feature of this TV is that though it is an HD television; it delivers non HD, standard definition material quite well unlike most of the HDTVs. Mostly, the standard definition material looks really awful on HDTVs. This TV has a great TV scaler and image processor.

The setting up is made easier with the help of setup wizard and on screen TV Guide. By pressing the remote’s Guide button, and the full screen menu that will appear bears the TV Guide logo, too. The remote is completely backlit, and is programmable. Navigating through channels is quite easy, and it will remind you of a future show when the time comes, if you have set a reminder. Sound system of this HDTV is pretty fine, though the higher notes are not easy to listen. Thus, decreasing the volume fixes this problem.

This TV shows to some extent blurry images, which also lack details on the edges. Colors look dull, and the TV lacks contrast. The Swivel factor is a plus point of this HD television and allows you to turn the screen towards you or at another angel remotely. The settings range is great, as you can personalize almost every feature on this TV.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

On screen TV guide
Backlit remote control
Mute button turns on closed captions
Flexible picture adjustments
Nice Standard Definition Picture

Limitations:

Not so great HD image quality
Very expensive
Not very impressive speakers

Final Words:

Though this Plasma TV shows fine images, the high price tag and the not very awesome picture quality doesn’t make it a fine choice.
