Competition in consumer electronics market is very tough, the main players Sony, Samsung and Panasonic always try to introduce something new in their products to attract the customers and to maintain a competitive edge over others. Being in same business, they also realize the importance of collaboration for sake of betterment and better utilization of technology in products. That’s why this time Sony, Samsung, Panasonic and X6D have publicized that they will work in collaboration for the development of “Full HD 3D Glasses Initiative” which is a novel technology standard for consumer 3D active glasses.

Full HD 3D Glasses Initiative

Deputy Senior General Manager, Home Entertainment Development Div., Sony Corporation Jun Yonemitsu said, “Through this alliance, we all look forward to addressing critical industry issues to enable a better consumer experience across products. We believe active 3D technology is the most suitable method to deliver full 1080p picture quality to each eye, giving consumers the 3D experience they most desire.”

After binding in this agreement, all of them will work in collaboration for the development and licensing of RF (Radio Frequency) system 3D active glasses technology which includes Radio Frequency System Protocol among consumer 3D active glasses and 3D displays for instance TV, PC, Projectors, 3D theaters with XPAND active shutter glasses.

General Manager of Media & Content Alliance Office, Corporate R&D Division, Panasonic Corporation Masayuki Kozuka said, “Panasonic has been working to standardize 3D glasses technologies, and in March, we announced a joint licensing of IR system protocols with XPAND, backed by several participant companies. We are very pleased that today’s latest collaboration will incorporate our previous concept into these new standardization efforts. We hope the expanded collaboration on this 3D standardization initiative will make a significant contribution toward accelerating the growth of 3D-related products.”

This license is expected to be released in September 2011 and then the development of standardized active 3D glasses will be initiated. Universal glasses with novel IR/RF protocols will be on hand in 2012 and will be compatible with the 3D active TVs of 2011.

XPAND 3D’s CEO Maria Costeira said, “We are delighted to contribute our efforts and technologies to the Full HD 3D Glasses Initiative for both RF and IR technology that we announced today with Panasonic, Samsung and Sony. This initiative reinforces the consumer electronics industry’s commitment to highest 3D quality and provides technology consumers and theater-goers with a simple but powerful solution to the challenge of interoperability.”

3D Camcorders

From the past sometime you can see that Panasonic is very much active into the exposure of new technologies in its digital products, in the last week the company brought an exciting new lineup of HD digital cameras some of which were also 3D capable. Now a new and a super exciting thing have been leaked for the company’s future products line and it is the ‘Panasonic HDC-SDT750 camcorder’ whose specifications have been leaked out before official announcement.

This thing have been heard before that Panasonic is planning to bring more 3D capable and affordable cameras and camcorders for the international markets but before the company would have said about anything about the new products, reports have shown that what is coming.

According to the company’s claims the upcoming camcorder is going to be the world’s first 3D shooting camcorder and according to the specification leaked, it will have the capability to shoot in 1080p AVCHD at 60fps and with that it will feature Panasonic’s Hybrid O.I.S. image stabilization tech.

The camera is not going to be an entirely new model coming from Panasonic but it will be an upgrade of the existing 3MOS model and the exciting thing will definitely be the “3D conversion lens” attached to it. So just wait and watch out for the time when Panasonic will actually bring this excitement in the markets.

Features:

Let us begin with the screen. It is a 3 inches LCD that is present on the back side of camera and shows vivid and sharp picture. The lens in this compact camera is a 25 mm ultra wide-angle LEICA DC VARIO ELMAR and has a commendable 12x optical zoom. This super zoom and optical image stabilization work great together. Another notable feature is its GPS tagging.

This superb feature can be switched on and off (according to your preference and choice) through the menu system. When it is turned on, it records the time at which you take a picture. Also, it records particular geographic details of the area where you take the picture. Try the genius system of TZ10 while you are out of your country; it will set the local time of the place (where you presently are) automatically. It will show you name of the area, the town and landmark (its memory covers 500,000 landmarks present in 73 countries worldwide). This feature is surely going to attract habitual tourists as it makes organizing albums easier than ever before.

Shooting modes include manual, shutter priority and aperture priority. These modes will attract serious photographers towards this compact camera. Also, there are two scene modes for customization. Overall, there are 32 shooting modes. Perhaps the best mode is Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto Mode, which does everything by itself and gives you best results. It optimizes ISO, scene setting, face detection, image stabilization and quick auto focus. The face detection feature can remember up to 5 faces.

All of the camera’s important functions are applicable in the video shooting mode, too. This is amazingly nice feature. Camera records pretty nice video with good audio quality. This compact, super zoom, GPS active camera can be bought for a very nice and adequate price of £250.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

Manual controls

Nicely priced

Wonderful image quality

12x zoom

GPS tagging both in still picture mode and video recording mode

Panasonic TC-P54Z1

Panasonic Corporation of North America has launched its manufacturing showpiece in 2009. It is the renowned Panasonic TC-P54Z1 from its TC-PV10 series. TC-P54Z1 is the most expensive with its exceptional picture quality. The wonderful TC-P54Z1 is bundled with wireless compatibility and amusingly the depth of screen in only one inch. The TC-P54Z1 is leading in electronics because of its extraordinary features like outstanding picture quality, separate tuner configuration box, and wireless technology to deliver vital in lustrous, internet-embedded VIERA Cast functionality with incorporated Amazon video on demand service. These are the features, which are still pending in other relevant instruments. You can rate it as number one due to its features and Panasonic has added this state of the art model in Plasma state. Z1 series with 54” class, cracking launch was done in 2009 summer.

Design

Panasonic is now leading in Plasma world by launching TC-P54Z1 the thinnest “1 inch deep”. However, this depth is not the actual deference between TC-P54Z1 and other leading Plasma TV current in market. The big difference is color. Panasonic is given smart look by finishing with quality sleek black plastic covered with silver metal flooring above and below the screen. The remaining two sides are decorated with sleek black vertical posse with flooring of silver gives the fantasy of wider screen panel. TC-P54Z1 overall delivers exclusive, stylish emergence and this put across the consciousness of elevated cost.

The TV measurement is 51.3 without and 56.3 inches wide including attached speakers, and 35.2/32.3 inches high by 15/1 inches deep with and without the stand. Wireless access tuner box is of the same size of standard DVD. The wireless transmitter looks like a small antenna and wireless attaches to the backside if panel.

The remote control is also designed beautifully. Remote control has lustrous finish and all-embracing backlighting. Although the look is very shiny but the main menu, features are also very important. The three combinations of keys Viera Link, Viera Cast and Viera tools are placed above the middle control pointer. Remote colors buttons’ size, color and shape segregation is arranged nicely.

Features

TC-P54Z1 wireless connectivity between source and its panel is startling. The external tuner box has HDMI, Ethernet, AV and other required ports. These ports inputs to display with the output from wireless transmitter.

If you have a look on refresh rate, the Z1 has 96Hz screen refresh rate. When the source is 1080p/24 (from Blu-ray player), the 9Hz refresh rate allows the TV to correctly maintain the rhythm of video. Z1 has adjustment of 48Hz settings but recommended is 96Hz to avoid flicker.

THX Display Certification is offered in Z1 models. When you shift to THX picture mode the overall picture quality like, color precision, shadow aspect and other picture features, get better than default settings without enabling mixture of sub settings.

VieraCast is a wonderful feature. You can view videos from You Tube, pictures from online albums and video on demand from Amazon. Ethernet is used to make connectivity to internet. Another amusing feature of VieraCast system is that it includes Netflix streaming and the ability to make voice and video calls via web servers.

TC-P54Z1 is a wonderful by Panasonic. Their features are marvelous. Now you have no need to adopt third party solutions to view online video from popular video sites. Contrast and deep black levels are bundled flawlessly to produce high-class image quality. TV-P54ZI is leading in plasmas’ inherited ability to endow with finer off-axis images.

Features:

This 50” plasma is nicely priced and is equipped with pretty fine features as well. Whether it is about direct streaming from the internet through Ethernet port, or it is about viewing cherished moments’ still images from the SD card; your Panasonic TH-50PZ850U is the solution.

About the internet; once you plug the TV into the home network system, you will be able to access the online content that is delivered by Panasonic’s Viera Cast service. It includes YouTube, weather reports, Picasa, and Bloomberg. As we all know the original YouTube video size, this TV streams it in a bit smaller window than the 50” screen. If you wish to view the photos stored in an SD card, the TV has an option of it. You can even watch the videos from your SD cards provided their format is either AVCHD or MPEG2.

Fast moving subjects are the best testing point for big screens. Unfortunately, this TV shows pixels while showing fast moving objects. Also, the pixilation is quite of concern in long shots. There are other problems like reddish tones on Caucasian skin and a bad over scan while handling a 720p source.

Remote is nice, though not backlit. It is a long one with big buttons. Also, it is programmable. On screen menu is easy to use although not a pleasure to sight. Like image quality, sound is also adequate, and not above average. If audio factor is important to you, you might need external machinery.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

Direct video streaming from the internet via Ethernet port

Nice programmable remote

Easy to use on screen menu

Nicely priced for 50 inches

Limitations:

Average picture quality

Average sound quality

Remote is not backlit
