HTC Desire Android 2.2 Update

Yesterday the exciting news came out of the O2’s platform and it was the release of highly awaited Android 2.2 update for the HTC Desire but the situation has again gone against the release and now the company has planned to halt the update. Just after 24 hours this new thing was reported from the company’s platform and this is really a very disappointing thing.

Today morning this new news came out of the TechRadar’s platform that the company has decided to halt this release very shortly after the arrival. A spokesman by the company reported that “While many have been able to download it successfully, we have had a small number of reports of customers having problems installing the software, which we are looking into.”

The further details regarding this new decision have not been provided by the company but this thing is clear that the update will remain halted until the company sort out the problem with the update completely.

On the official platform of O2 people have reported facing certain problems with the install and may be because of those reports the company has decided to stop the update for the time being. So unluckily the happiness of Desire’s owner has got a pause and they’ll have to wait again until they get the update from their platform.

In the previous month we have got the disappointing news that the arrival of Android 2.2 for HTC desire is delayed from Orange’s platform but wow!
It has been reported by some of the HTC Desire’s customers that they have been prompted to install the new over to air update for the HTC Desire and this one turns out to be Android 2.2. This was really good news for the Desire’s owners as they have been among those desperate people who were waiting for the new Android 2.2 update.

A member of the O2 official forum, potzy has stated that “May be spoke too soon, I think the update has ricked my phone. It won’t startup now, gets stuck on the O2 blue startup screen”. The release of Android 2.2 on HTC Desire has been also confirmed officially, the O2 subscribers of HTC Desire must check their updates because may be this surprise is waiting for them.

From this release O@ has got successful to come up to its user’s expectations and now the other companies should also bring this excitement for their users because the wait is killing.

HTC HD2 one of the remarkable windows mobile phone is coming with some extra ordinarily smart features and a very fantastic user interface. It was very much in the mind of HTC lovers that which company is going to launch this set. And now for the first time in history HTC mobile will be sold on the platform of O2, followed by vodaphone.

The General Manager of Devices of O2 commented that “The HTC HD2 is the first HTC branded phone to be sold on O2. We love the large screen and combination of Windows Mobile 6.5 with HTC Sense,” going on to add that the “HD2 adds a new dimension to the range of devices we offer to our customers.”

It was overall a very bold decision by O2 and it has been expected by the experts that this mobile will definitely prove to be the best ever profitable product sold on O2’s platform. This mobile is no doubt a very marvelous mobile thanks to the HTC’s sense and people are very desperate in buying this new Smartphone. The O2 has not yet provided the details of this mobile on their web site so if anyone is interested in knowing the price of this mobile he/she has to the O2 customer care centers in their city.

The Motorola Droid’s launch in US with O2 network is a very a big hit but some news media has revealed that in UK the Droid won’t be launching on mobile networks O2 or T-Mobile. Apparently, T-Mobile UK tested the Droid about six months ago; Nicola Shenton, the operator’s Head of Handset and Device Marketing, confirmed that they chose not to carry it.

The exact reason for this is unknown, but it may have something to do with the fact that T-Mo already sells three Android phones in the UK: G1, Hero and Pulse. So after this news the whole UK’s mobile market and the consumers are waiting for the new company which will accept this milestone. Now the eyes are on Orange, Vodafone or 3 Mobile to bring this superb Android Phone to UK’s market.

Orange has showed up its intrest in the android phones by saying that they had “at least three new market-leading devices to be unveiled by the end of the year”. Until now they’ve announced the Motorola DEXT, HTC Hero and iPhone, but the droid lovers are still hoping that this company is going to launch Motorola Droid as well. So keep your fingers crossed and just wait and watch.

IPhone 3GS is not going to slide into your hands without the tangles of a network; O2 has kept the exclusivity with it. The company was to announce the tariffs and rates on this Wednesday, but it made the fees public sooner than decided.

Credit: apple

The new iPhone 3GS is going to be available for purchase from 19th of this month. Given that you choose the cheapest and most affordable rates, the 16 GB version of the iPhone 3GS will cost you a £184.98, whereas the bigger 32 GB version is going to pull £274.23 out of you pocket. Remember! These are the cheapest rates!

Every iPhone holder was quite happy with the Software Update 3.0, as well as those who were planning to get an iPhone. Regarding MMS and tethering facilities; you will have to pay extra for these services. If you want to hook the iPhone with your PC to make it act as a 3G modem, then get prepared for “limited” downloading tariffs. The Internet Tethering Bolt On will cost £14.68 a month for 3GB of data and £29.36 for 10GB of data. Both packages will include The Cloud Wi-Fi services. As far as MMS is concerned, one will cost you the amount equal to 4 text messages. Existing O2 customers are allowed to upgrade, too.
