Business for the sake of business is very common these days especiallyamong multi-national firms. This mutual dependence ties multi-nationals in a long term relationship. Same is the case with Nokia and Microsoft.

Nokia will make handsets configured with Windows Phone 7 operating system for Microsoft. Microsoft will pay U.S $1billion to Nokia. On the other hand Nokia will pay license fee to Microsoft for each copy of windows that it will use in cell-phones.

The duration of contract between Nokia and Microsoft will be 5 years. This deal will forbid Nokia to sign any kind of partnership deal with others (much talked about Android).

A major question arises here, why Microsoft has marked Nokia for this deal? Most probably because Nokia is the World’s largest mobile phone manufacturer and Microsoft can target huge market after this deal.
Do you know who is the Chief Executive of Nokia?, Stephen Elope, former Vice President of Microsoft. It could be one of the reasons behind this deal because Elope better understand the strategies on Microsoft and can take Nokia to a higher level of competition by signing such deals.

This Strategic partnership will be beneficial for Microsoft as well as Nokia. Market share of Nokia is declining a bit because of other companies that provide Smart-phones. It could be a golden opportunity for Nokia to retain its market share and move forward.

Change is good, and Nokia has proved it by adapting itself according to the changes in technology. Nokia has made some changes in Nokia N8 Symbian, surprised? Yes its true Nokia has redesigned its Symbian.

Nokia N8 has undergone some changes; it has a new status bar on the top, and this addition resembles it to HTC.

Changes do not end here. Widgets are highlighted more than before. At the bottom, new soft keys are added that will let you make calls easily. Apart from it by using this soft button you will be able to go through menus and contacts.

The Nokia and Microsoft seem to be “made for each other” and the news of Nokia-Microsoft collaboration has proved it. Nokia wants to target the Microsoft customers as well, how come? It is also planning to make affordable Windows Phone 7 Mobiles, in order to enable people enjoy the affordable gadgets even in the period of recession.

Top officials from Nokia will meet with their customers and different partners and see how they can better their products in the coming year. They will also have dinners and breakfast with AT&T people till the end of the event. Nokia is making sure that they make a comeback with their new Nokia N8 and to make it sound better they have decided to have a demo of it with Dolby. Hence, consumers can checkout the sound quality of Nokia N8 at the Dolby booth.

Apart from that you can find Nokia at the Intel booth where they both will be providing more information about the most talked about and anticipated operating system MeeGo. NAVTEQ will also showcase Nokia on their booth and showcase their latest innovations where mapping and rich content will be the core topic.
