Features:

This candy bar phone set is all clad in plastic. It is a thicker plastic version of E71. Apart from the love of metal finish, plastic is prone to much lesser smudges and fingerprints. Even the dimensions are almost same. It will obviously fit into one’s pocket quite snugly. The backside is finished in non-slippery material. The display is 2.36-inch QVGA (320×240 pixels), and is vivid and bright. Brightness is automatically adjusted according to the surroundings.

There are two modes available, Business and Personal. Business mode gives direct access to work tools like e-mail, the Web, and the file manager; whereas the other mode leads to personal data like multimedia library, the Web, and messages.

The full QWERTY keyboard is nice to type with, and adds a key in the bottom row that results in a shortened spacebar. The flashlight can very well be used as a torch. Long battery life, spacious keyboard, and touch sensitive Navi-Wheel is all that make this pretty phone adorable.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

Integrated Wi-Fi

Full QWERTY keyboard

Full email capabilities

3G support

Limitations:

No GPS

No side mounted volume rocker

Call and Camera quality is not great

Final Words:

Much affordable than the metallic E71; E63 offers full functionality and alluring design to the consumers. This is a good pick if you care about the looks and colors with important packed features.

In many ways, both phones are capable of being compared to each other. A QWERTY email-focused Business phone; even named as “the plastic E71”; E63 is evidently built on the older E71’s design. This phone was released in December 2008.

To understand this mobile phone, let us get a look at its specifications:

Quad band GSM support

369 MHz ARM 11 CPU and 128 MB of SDRAM

113 x 59 x 13 mm, 87 cc

126 g

Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g

3G support, 384 kbps

Symbian 9.2 OS, S60 UI with FP1

GPRS class 32, 100 kbps

EDGE class 32, 296 kbps

HSCSD

WAP 2.0/xHTML, HTML

Landscape 320 x 240 pixels 2.36″ TFT 16M-color display of QVGA resolution

2 mega pixel, 1600×1200 pixels, fixed focus camera with LED flash

120 MB of internal memory, micro SD expansion up to 8GB

Standard 3.5mm audio jack

Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP support

MicroUSB v2.0

Infrared

FM radio

MP3/AAC/MPEG4 player

Comfortable full QWERTY keypad

Provider-independent VoIP support

Convenient shortcut keys

Nokia Maps

Office document editor

Li-Po 1500 mAh (BP-4L), Great battery life

User-friendly Mode Switch for swapping two home screen setups

Remote Lock and Wipe feature

One-year free subscription for Files on Ovi

Available in Black, Ultramarine Blue and Ruby Red

Instead of a metal shell as the one E71 had, this candy bar is plastic-clad. Where the metal-lovers would miss a solid outside, cleanliness fans will surely like the phone as there is no more finger-printed smudged covering. Flashlight of camera can also be used as a torch.

The new-fangled touch sensitive Navi-Wheel which surrounds the conventional d-pad should make it more effortless for the user to flip between menus and screens. Also, it has a wider keyboard (though only a couple of millimeters wide) with a little bigger keys than the E71, and a new “/” key.

Another pleasant attribute of E63 is longer battery life. It is expected to stay charged for about 11 hours of talk time and 432 hours of standby time.

Product Unique Selling Points:

120 MB of internal memory, micro SD expansion up to 8GB

369 MHz ARM 11 CPU and 128 MB of SDRAM

Symbian 9.2 OS, S60 UI with FP1

Comfortable full QWERTY keypad

Limitations:

There are certain features in E63 which can devaluate it.

The device has no side-buttons for volume adjustment or voice recording. Moreover, the space bar at the lowest row of keyboard is not a wide one. E63 does not come with GPS (Global Positioning System) support; neither does it hold up HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) data. Both of these technologies are a must in all business phones, though. Perhaps the biggest glitch of E63 is its 2x zoom 2 mega pixels Camera, which is not a very impressive characteristic.

Besides these little drawbacks, E63 is an affordable phone with almost all the key features of any business phone.
