Researchers from General Electric have succeeded to make some remarkable development in the field of digital storage technology that will enable discs of standard size to house data equivalent of 100DVDs.

Right now it’s limited only to lab, but the new technology will soon be utilized in mass production of the discs with some affordable prices, G.E says.

According to some industry experts and analysts, this is, indeed, a huge step forward in developing some really impressive digital tech that will be quite handy for scientific, commercial and consumer markets.

“It’s, indeed, a next-gen of low-cost storage,” says Richard Doherty a tech analyst at Envisioneering.

In fact, General Electric researchers have been working in holographic storage field for quite some time and this optical process allows putting digital data and 3D images together. According to this theory storage with holographic storage the data will be packed a lot more densely than it does in the traditional optical technology that is being widely used Blu-rays and DVDs.

The new holographic discs will be able to hold 500GB of data in 25GB and 50GB discs.

However, the moot question is whether these advancements can be deployed in cheap media and if it is done, there will be considerable drop in price-per-gigabytes ratio. Currently, more and more users want to connect HDTVs with media player and set top box.

Now, there has been noticed a leaked information about new Zune HD’s specs. These specs have been told by someone at Neowin, and they claim that these specs are confirmed.

The most prominent feature is its 3.6” OLED Touchscreen. This is pretty much similar to the iPhone and iPod Touch’s latest upcoming models. This is why, it seems that Microsoft has just stolen the idea of its competing brand.

Other main features include a Camera, 3D Xbox support, plus few elements of Windows 7. Also, there will be NVIDIA Tegra, HDMI Connection to stream straight to users’ TV, HD Radio, web browser, and Wi-Fi compatibility. These specs make it seem more like a mobile phone than a media player.

It is going to be available in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB versions; one would be able to choose according to their needs. It is being said that Zune HD will be released this fall. That will be an international release.

Though, this is much like a cell phone, but it is not highly probable that Microsoft transforms its acclaimed media player into a mobile phone. To see what the exact specs are and what is Microsoft going to come up with in actuality; we all will have to wait till the early fall of this year. Let us cross our fingers for the impending glamorous media player by Microsoft.

It comes in 3 eye catching colors; silver black, copper yaeelow and red. It has an alpha numeric keypad which conceals a full QWERTY keyboard (with auto completion and auto correction), revealed by sliding the phone; though the phone is quite slim.

When it comes to connectivity, E75 does not disappoint us. Web sites can easily be navigated through NaviKey. The quad band HSDPA Mobile Broadband offers a high speed internet connectivity wherever available. Also, the E75 delivers with Wi-Fi 802.11 and is compatible with UPnP (Universal Plug n Play) technology. Bluetooth and USB support connectivity with computers as well as with other devices.

This phone is not only about work. Nokia offers two modes for business and personal use with customizable home screens. There is 3.2 mp camera along with a secondary video call camera. An FM Radio with RDS, a media player, and a standard 3.5mm audio output jack raise it to a level higher than ordinary business phones. The GPS setup works with Nokia maps as well as with free Google Maps.
