The original HTC diamond was launched to cast a real robust impression in smartphone world, and now this upgraded version has emerged to surpass not only the previous version, but also many other big player of the today cell phone world. When it comes to design, you will find the Touch Diamond2 somewhat bigger than its forerunner, but this greatness in size really promises longer battery life, upgraded camera and higher resolution screen.

But there are lots of things that are quite similar to the original Touch Diamond, and it uses the same TouchFLO 3D as we have already seen in the original Touch Diamond and again there is Mobile 6.1 Professional. So, there are many things that you have already seen in the Original Touch Diamond. But some improvements have also been made, but at the cost of extra size and weight. It quite easier now to use its touchscreen UI with a large screen and it is quite exceptional to view videos and photos.

One thing is certain that the Touch Diamond2 has all the stuff that people love to see in their cell phones these days and it serves, as the best choice for those tech-heads who always like to tweak and customize their devices to make them perfect.

It’s photography that has always been reckoned a week thing for HTC, while you will find great improvement this time, as new Diamond’s 5mp camera allows you to have print quality photos in better lighting.

When it comes to Music, you would find enormous space to store videos and music, as it has a 288MB RAM as well as support of MicroSD memory card. For connectivity, you will find Bluetooth, WiFi and USB and with its large touchscreen and HSDPA 7.2Mbps capability, it is quite fast to download data instantly.

You will definitely find it a great device and with lots of improvement than the original Touch Diamond2 device.

Unique Selling Point

Spacious and friendly touchscreen

Big improvement in Camera

A nice pick for tech-heads

This mobile phone is expected to go nearest to the iPhone in every sense, as not a single phone has ever come closer to the iPhone’s performance and range of apps it offers. By manufacturing iPhone, Apple has given such a tough competition to all rivals that they can hardly come closer to the killer phone even after trying their best.

Features:

Diamond2 is slightly bigger than Diamond, and this extra size is basically dedicated to the wider 3.2” touchscreen panel. No more can you find the plastic D-pad as it has been replaced by a thin line of menu buttons. Above this row is zoom bar. It feels strong and sturdy in hands. The metal edging with plastic back has given it a great look as well as strong feel. The whole back is made in plastic, except for the tiny triangular metal area that encloses the 5 mp camera lens. Power button is on the top, miniUSB charging/headphone slot at the bottom, and the sides bear volume rocker, stylus-slot and loudspeaker.

Its big screen is an utter pleasure to eyes. It is 3.2 inches TFT LCD touch sensitive screen that offers 800×480 pixel WVGA resolution. The screen displays sharp, crisp and clear picture, and does not disappoint the users. Touch sensitivity of the screen is nice, but sadly, you won’t be able to adjust it. That requires getting used to exerting a required pressure for various functions.

The TouchFlo 3D interface has better performance level than ever before. For instance, Windows menu can be accessed in 3 ways; by the hard physical button present on the phone, by the usual button on top left area of the screen, or by scrolling through the functions. Windows menu icons are listed exactly like iPhone’s thumb size apps; a surprise. A new calendar, a new calculator and a great word correction tool add to its charm. To avoid Windows sluggish performance while texting, this phone allows direct messaging from contact entries.

In camera section, Diamond2 takes the lead over iPhone with a 5 mp against a mere 2 mp. Sorrowfully, there is no flash, though it has an auto focus feature. Also, there are no editing options after you have taken a photo. Opera and IE are there for browsing function. 3G and Wi-Fi make fast access to web possible, along with a new feature called “Push Internet.” Almost all the main video formats are supported, and a dedicated app is also there for YouTube videos.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

Wonderful wider touchscreen

5 mp camera

Great interface

Firm and solid chassis

Nice battery life

Push Internet

Best iPhone rival yet

Limitations:

Video is not great

Sluggish Windows Mobile

Final words:

Memory of this phone can be extended up to 16 GB; pretty nice expandability. Battery life is also better than before. All these features combine to make it one wonderful phone that is likely to come pretty close to Apple’s killer phone.
