Released in December 2008, Nokia E63 was eventually celebrated as a “Plastic Substitute” of the all metallic predecessor E71. Basically, this phone is built on the design lines of E71, as this fact is evident by looking at it. Available in beautiful and eye-catching colors, this is a glamorous mobile phone apart from the features and specs.

Specs:

Features:

This candy bar phone set is all clad in plastic. It is a thicker plastic version of E71. Apart from the love of metal finish, plastic is prone to much lesser smudges and fingerprints. Even the dimensions are almost same. It will obviously fit into one’s pocket quite snugly. The backside is finished in non-slippery material. The display is 2.36-inch QVGA (320×240 pixels), and is vivid and bright. Brightness is automatically adjusted according to the surroundings.

There are two modes available, Business and Personal. Business mode gives direct access to work tools like e-mail, the Web, and the file manager; whereas the other mode leads to personal data like multimedia library, the Web, and messages.

The full QWERTY keyboard is nice to type with, and adds a key in the bottom row that results in a shortened spacebar. The flashlight can very well be used as a torch. Long battery life, spacious keyboard, and touch sensitive Navi-Wheel is all that make this pretty phone adorable.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

Integrated Wi-Fi

Full QWERTY keyboard

Full email capabilities

3G support

Limitations:

No GPS

No side mounted volume rocker

Call and Camera quality is not great

Final Words:

Much affordable than the metallic E71; E63 offers full functionality and alluring design to the consumers. This is a good pick if you care about the looks and colors with important packed features.

E series has given the technology world some of the most brilliant smart phones ever, with features ranging from emailing to music playing and gaming.

These are one of the most powerful business handsets offering mobility to smart businesses and professionals on the move. The E series flaunts a new line of business optimized devices with an emphasis on enhanced connectivity and support for corporate email push services.

History:

On October 12, 2005, Nokia announced what the company referred to as the E series, consisting of three mobile phones; the E60, E61 and E70. On May 18, 2006, Nokia announced the addition of the E50 to the series, which it refers to as a “business device” rather than a “smartphone”. On February 12, 2007, Nokia announced the addition of three more handsets to the series; E61i, E65 and E90. On April 11, 2008, Nokia Australia advised that the E61i would be discontinued in May 2008 and be replaced by a more featured but smaller E71. In December 2008, E71’s substitute E63 was released.

Features:

As already stated above, whole E series emphasizes on business needs, and is featured accordingly. But there are entertainment features too. Almost all the Nokia E series models include remarkable features like Series 60 platform 3rd Edition, QVGA (or better displays), Wi-fi, push email, Bluetooth, EDGE and 3G high-speed data.

Key Features:

Style:

E50, E51 and E60 are Candybar, E61, E61i and E62 are Bricks, E65 and E66 are Sliders, E70 and E71 are Clamshells whereas E90 is Communicator.

Operating Frequency Mode:

Most of these phones have EGSM, and some latest handsets have WCDMA and HSDPA.

QWERTY Keyboard:

All E series phones possess a QWERTY keyboard except E50, E51, E60, E65 and E66.

Wi-Fi:

Except for E62 and E50, all E series phones are packed with Wi-Fi.

Camera:

E series features in built camera except for E60, E61 and E62.

Memory card:

All E series mobile handsets have an option of extendable memory via memory cards.

GPS:

This new navigating technology is gaining more and more popularity day by day. Only E66, E71 and E90 are quipped with GPS supportin whole E series.

E90:

The E90 possesses almost all the features that are available these days including HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, a 3.2-megapixel camera, large 800 x 352-pixel LCD and a full QWERTY keyboard.

E71:

This phone is equipped with almost every latest technology possible, including Wi-Fi, GPS, HSPDA etc. Full QWERTY key board and 3.15 mp camera with a secondary video call camera add to its value. There is a word processor to cater to document related needs, and high speed wireless connectivity enables the user to get connected with business companions.

E63:

Nokia E63 has been evaluated as a substitute of E71 since the day it hit market. In many ways, both phones are capable of being compared to each other. A QWERTY email-focused Business phone; even named as “the plastic E71”; E63 is evidently built on the older E71’s design.

Nokia is a relied upon mobile phone company all around the globe. Their wide range starts from entry level simplest mobile phones and pulls out to comprehensive corporate oriented palm devices. E series has expressly been designed for the business community with an aim to fulfill all the needs of a corporate user from word processing to e-mailing. This series has proven to be a success and Nokia is still adding to its business phone list.
