From the start of New Year Intel revealed its own application store for the laptop industry, this was basically an atom application store in beta version which was expected to be released as a built in feature in the future laptops and with that the installation facility for this application store will also be available for the users.

Just after some months of the release of the App store Asus has earned the status of being the first company that is bringing this store in its net books, the Asustek computer will be the first computer that will put on the Intel’s AppUp application store in its coming laptops.

According to the statement provided by Intel “Asus will be the first OEM to ship a pre-installed, customized AppUp client called “Asus App Store” on netbooks this fall, beginning with Windows and following with MeeGo-based systems”.

The application store by Intel was a good try to beat the already developed Apple’s and Google’s application stores but up till now the Intel application store has some limitations being a new comer but it can be expected that it will be able to become a tough competitor to the other application stores very soon.

Asus has been always among the pioneers in bringing on some very new and exciting feature in their laptops and this is the reason that the sale rate of its laptops in the market is very high. You never have thought about playing a high power game in your laptop but Asus has planned to give this much power in your laptops.

With the laptops technology Asus has launched the revolution of the conversion of 2D into 3D for the games lovers. This is revolutionary because no other mobile has come with this much support for the 2D and 3D games lovers. The G51J3D and G72GX (catchy!) will come with new gamer’s support that will provide gamers with a portable 3D experience on 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch screens respectively.

The other laptops technologies seem to be also interested in the 2D conversion into the 3D conversions. So 2010 is expected to be coming with tough competition among the 3D power stations. For the laptop owners it should be kept in mind that this new technology would be of some more price than their laptops. So there is no need to throw away the laptop which you own.

Features:

The touchpad, lid and palm rest of this unique laptop is finished with bamboo panels, which give you a nostalgic feeling about the good old days of TVs and Speakers with wooden paneling. This laptop is not only comfortable looking, but is as functional and useful as any portable computer can be. Right now, only the touchpad, lid and palm rest are bamboo finished; remaining parts are still plastic clad.

Why bamboo? Do you know that bamboo is well known for its weightlessness

yet sturdiness? Yes, it is one such natural material that is not only easy to hold and pick, but is strong and sturdy as well. It is also popular for its properties of being renewable and recyclable. Thus by using bamboo panels in its laptop, Asus has shown its promising attitude towards greener world and eco-friendliness.

The processor Asus has used is an Intel Core 2 Duo T9400, along with 4GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS graphics adapter and a 320GB hard drive. Indeed a fine multi-tasking unit!

Networking and other slots are in abundance, including an HDMI port. Touchpad is a pleasure to use, with bamboo paneling. Keyboard possesses nicely spaced keys, and is very easy to use; though I think that the white keyboard contrasts starkly with the solemn bamboo finish.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

Lightweight

Bamboo paneling

Eco friendly

Built in optical drive

Portable size

Limitations:

Slow hard drive

Refinement needed in touchpad buttons

Narrow vertical viewing angle of screen

No FireWire

White keyboard looks awkward

Final Words:

This is a new direction of eco friendliness towards which Asus is heading. With natural and recyclable materials such as bamboo and wood used in laptops; Asus is expressing its concern for environment and trying its best to avoid being a part of polluting agents. Good going Asus!

In fact, the label is going to release a Videophone soon in UK. This is an Eee videophone, and as its name suggests, belongs to the famous Eee house of Asus family. From portable flip notebooks to dual screen tablets, Asus has reached even smaller portables with the facility of video calling.

It was first known as AiGuru SV1, but soon Asus realized that this name wouldn’t help. Attaching an Eee label to the product was hype itself. Thus, this is now known as Eee videophone. It is being produced in conjunction with the cellular network companies’ greatest fear “Skype”. The users can attach the phone to their home network either with a cable, or wirelessly. This will get them instant access to internet, and they can get connected to their Skype mates anywhere in this world. As this is a mobile phone, you can take it just anywhere and get connected to your loved ones via an internet connection.

This videophone possesses a 7” screen, built in microphone, speaker and a camera. Camera quality is excellent even in a poorly lit room. One can pre order the device for £219.95.

These days, every label is coming up with novel and unique electric products in consumer as well as corporate market. This is why we have to bear such hassle every time we go to shop for electronic goods, as choosing the best among all is really difficult. In this article, we will discuss some of the top brand names, their respective histories and the hot products they manufacture. Here, 3 brands will be discussed which are Apple, Sony and Asus. All these three companies are top producers in the line of portable goods.

Apple was incorporated on January 3rd, 1977 without Wayne as he had sold his share of the company to Jobs and Wozniak for $800. By the end of the 70 decade, Apple had a team of computer designers and a manufacture line, too. Apple Lisa was launched in 1983 which failed. Next in the line was Macintosh that appeared in 1984. Mac Portable came in 1989, followed by PowerBook in 1991.In 1997, Apple Store was introduced. 1998 brought iMac, 2001 introduced iPod, and in 2007, Apple TV and iPhone were announced.
Common Products in all Three Brands:

Though the product list of all these brands is quite long, we have selected few top products which are produced by all of them. These are Laptops, Cell phones, Media players and TVs.

1. Laptops:

All the three brands produce laptops.

Apple:

Apple’s laptops have been named by the company as “MacBook”. There are three categories, MacBook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

Previously known as the iBook, MacBook is a consumer notebook which was introduced in 2006, available in white and aluminum. Other two are its up gradations.

MacBook Pro is a professional lightweight aluminum notebook, with a 17” display and a long lasting battery life, which can last up to 8 hours after being fully charged once. This battery can be charged for 1000 times, which makes its life almost 5 years. It is also world’s lightest 17” laptop with merely 6.6 pounds. Apple claims that this is “the most powerful Mac notebook yet.”

MacBook Air is a uniquely thin, ultra portable notebook, introduced in January 2008. It comes with NVIDIA GeForce graphics, Intel core 2 Duo processor, 13.3-inch widescreen LED-backlit display, 120GB hard drive or a 128GB solid-state drive, and a full-size, illuminated keyboard.

Sony:

Sony has made its name in trendy and stylish laptops. There is no other brand in the market which can compete with the beautiful looks of a Sony Vaio. The Vaio series of Sony is famous for its lustrous eye catching casings and soaring prices. Recently, Sony has added another new laptop in its Vaio series which looks as attractive as its predecessors. Sony’s brand new creation in Vaio series is the VGN-FW351JH, with a core 2 duo processor and Blu-ray combo drive as the main features.

Sony has lately introduced new P-Series Life Style PC in Sony Vaio Brand; a stylish, slim, sleek and light-weighed plastic net book, that can fit into one’s jacket pocket. It is compared to none in the market. The only VAIO P Series model currently listed on the Sony Electronics website is the VGN-P598E/Q. Sony asserts that this is “world’s lightest notebook”.

Asus:

Asus is Europe’s 3rd biggest notebook brand after HP and Acer. Its top notebook brand Eee PC was lunched in October 2007. Recent additions in Eee family are a Dual Touchscreen Flipbook PC, the Fold/Unfold Laptop concept and the Eee PC 1000 HE. The unique Dual Touchscreen Flipbook PC is created to be used as a laptop, an e-book reader and a multimedia center. The fold/unfold laptop enables two persons to work on the same device at the same time, and also supports a multi-user mode, facilitating more than two users to work in collaboration. Asus claims that the new Eee PC 1000 HE has a long battery life per charge i.e. 9.5 hours. Also, this laptop comes with a sticker that says, “All Day Computing.”

2. Cell Phones:

Apple:

In this line, Apple has astonished the world by creating the all beautiful and functional iPhone. Every brand is striving hard to reach up to iPhone’s level. It is a unique concept of an iPod and an internet enabled cell phone combined in one form. The Apps of an iPhone make it more than a mere cell phone. It can be a dictionary, a TV, a radio, a camera, a book reader, a music composer, a GPS navigator, a wireless gaming console, a clock and what not. There is much more to iPhone.

Sony:

Sony Ericsson is one of the world’s top cellular phones brand, with a wide range of mobile phones. Their phones range from the simple call making and SMS sending models to Touchscreen multimedia phones.

These phones feature applications like Cybershot, Walkman media player, Quickshare etc. The most popular series among youth is W series which features Walkman player. Camera oriented public is addressed by Cybershot series. SE is notorious for their bad joysticks and camera buttons; this is why one can’t find these features in recent models.

Asus:

Asus is not a competitor of above mentioned brands in Phones, as it has a very scanty collection of cell phones. The only listed cell phone at their website is P527, which features a slim design, aluminum cover, GPS, Travelog, News Station, multimedia player and user friendly interface.

3. Media Players:

Apple:

Apple is leading the media player race with its iPod. This digital music player was introduced on October 23rd, 2001, till now, Apple has produced many models of iPod addressing different types of consumers. These models include iPod classic, iPod shuffle, iPod nano and iPod touch.

iPod nano is all aluminum and glass, comes in nine eye catching colors, with a curved outline, and is your personal DJ. This is a compact music media player with a 2 inch bright display to enable video and photo viewing. It has a huge storage capacity and an inbuilt feature called “Genius”, too. It offers inbuilt as well as downloadable games.

iPod shuffle is world’s smallest music player having an ability to talk to the user. About 1000 audio songs can be stored into an iPod Shuffle, and VoiceOver tells about the song details and play lists etc by speaking to you. iPod Touch indicates Touchscreen feature by its very name.

Sony:

Sony has introduced their media player by the name of Walkman. Walkman technology has been widely liked by the world community to the extent that Sony has introduced it in their mobile phones too, in a series labeled as Walkman series. Walkman series mobiles are highly praised due to the quality digital music player that has been loaded into them. Walkman players are available in different sizes and colors.

Asus:

Asus has not stepped into this field yet.

Conclusion:

All these products have their positive and negative sides, as nothing is perfect. But these three brands are among the most cherished labels in technology world for the mentioned products. Apple has made a statement in media player world, as well as in laptop market, on the other hand Sony is famous for their trendy and modish VAIO, and Asus is known for their environment friendly notebooks.

Whenever you shop for such products, go for detailed reviews about competing brands, and choose the best among all. This is how the finest product can be purchased.

Features:

This is an ultra portable net book with weight as light as 1.45 kg. Such a light weight allows the user to travel with it anywhere without much trouble. The user will not face any problem while journey due to its small size. With 1024×600 native resolution display screen, picture quality is quite good.

There is Intel Atom N270 / N280 inside this net book and the working is quite reasonable. Storage capacity is good enough for a small sized ultra portable with 160 GB of hard drive. Windows XP runs as the operating system for this net book, as Vista is too heavy for these petite ultra portable computers. This one is quite affordable with price range around £300.

The keyboard looks a lot like MacBook’s Keyboard. Keys are nicely placed at a distance from each other so as to prevent typing mistakes as happens in most of the smaller portables, and they lie flat with the base. It is almost 92 % of a standard keyboard.

Battery Life:

Asus claims that this net book has a longer battery life per charge i.e. 9.5 hours. This is indeed a long time compared to other net books. This computer comes with a sticker that says, “All Day Computing.” If it really works for such a long time, it would be a perfect machine to accompany everyone to the 9-5 job.

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

A longer battery life i.e. 9.5 hours per charge
A large keyboard with nicely spaced and easy to use keys
Bright display screen
Web cam, memory card reader and 3 USB ports

Costs around £300

Limitations:

As is swanked, battery doesn’t long “all day” at all

Build is not very fine

Final Words:

A net book with 9.5 hours battery is rare to find. If long working hours are your concern, this net book will surely attend to your needs.

Asus is Europe’s 3rd largest notebook manufacturer, following HP and Acer.

CEO of Asus, Jerry Shen talked about this new idea in a recent interview with Tech Radar. According to him, this innovative concept is developed jointly by a set of designers belonging to Italy, Korea and France. This Fold/unfold Laptop is soon going to enter its production stage, and is expected to be out in the market by the end of this year.

It is an interesting concept; enabling two persons to work on the same device at the same time. This laptop can be folded, and unfolded. It can be used as a laptop in its standard form, and can be unfolded and laid flat on a table. This is not the end; the concept also supports a multi-user mode, facilitating more than two users to work in collaboration. This is, indubitably, a magnificently unique and appealing concept.

This laptop, based on Origami, has been inspired from Apple’s super slim Mac Book Air. Mr. Shen stated that major aim in manufacturing this laptop was to produce a better ergonomic keyboard; to provide the user with a well equipped and best suited keyboard.

Asus has grown pretty speedily over the past decade. Eee PC brand has played the role of a catalyst in its growth. Fold/unfold Laptop seems to be a gadget which can further increase its manufacturers’ growth prospectively.

CeBIT 09 Show is just days away and the company has uncovered a novel concept for a sophisticated motherboard named as Marine Cool. This new motherboard concept is quite different from other motherboards that are available in the market these days. This new Marine Cool concept will be displayed at CeBIT booth of the company during the coming week.

The new backplate that houses “micro-porous ceramic” tool is being named as the main feature of this concept. This new technology will provide a faster dissipation of heat as well as improve its structural integrity. With this backplate’s cooling effects, you will be able to control high-end overclocking in a better way.

Another nice thing in this Marine Cool concept is its SO-DIMM memory slots that have replaced their usual desktop-grade DIMM slots. There are many advantages and disadvantages are being attached to this new feature, as it can be very handy to save some space and notebook-grade memory can do a lot of nice things on mainstream systems.

As far as the reflexive cooling solution is concerned, it has been effectively designed to dispel the heat on the PWM, Southbridge and Northbridge of this board. It seems that ASUS has taken inspiration for this board from a sci-fi movie. It is being expected that the new board will provide a great support to all emerging technologies.

It was not speculated that both Garmin and ASUS will be joining hands to form a partnership. Now they have exposed themselves as strategic partners Garmin – ASUS.

The first phone model that is heard about is ‘nuvifone’, which is not new for the market roamers. Now it will be named as ‘nuvifone G60’. It is expected to hit the markets in the first half of this year. Also, it is known that this year will see many more co-branded phone sets.

The next model of Garmin – ASUS is expected to be seen at the Mobile World Committee at the end of this month.

Though the specifications and details of the phone have not been officially told, but sources provide some information. ASUS’ chairman said, “We have expertise in WinMo, Linux and Android, but we believe the software is more important than the OS.”

It is also learned that ASUS’ branded cell phones will be ended in order to uplift the joint venture products.

Market experts hope that this joint venture will bring many new and innovative handsets to the markets. The hand set users will have another line of wide variety of handsets with enjoyable and fun provoking options. It is also looked forward what price will be decide to launch a new product in this economic struck conditions.

It is noticeable that many market giants are collapsing and jamming their heavy loaded sets to survive.

An exquisite design stylishly encapsulates the HDSS (High Definition Sound Standard) certified drivers to ensure precision and bass-boosting 36w of music power.

The ETL (Embedded Transmission Line) module is a physical structure inside the chambers within the chambers that boosts sound energy to lessen the obtrusive vibration that otherwise makes listeners feel weary and itchy. ETL enables the AIR3 to provide users with immaculate audio clarity. ETL module in the chamber design is not the only tool the AIR3 uses for sound perfection. TI (Texas Instruments) class-D audio power amplifier TPA3120D2 is yet another tool employed for cinematic audio reproduction. The built-in weather forecast display is for the adventure mongers or simply for anyone keen.

With the arrival of AIR3, many radio enthusiasts forebode 2009 to be ‘the year’ for the internet radio to go mainstream. They are of the view that there are certainly enough functional but affordable products in the market now to facilitate that.
