Sony PS4 Won’t Be Using Cell Processor

Sony PS3 has got such a huge success and that is not hidden from any one, Sony has also announced that this powerful PS3 will stay in the market for many years but in the recent week we have seen that Japanese sources have claimed that Sony is working on the development of multi-core central processing unit (CPU) on another gaming beast the PS4. It has also been declared that Sony is searching for an alternative for the PS3’s cell architecture which has come to be exciting news for the play station lovers.

It has been seen that Sony was initially looking towards Intel’s Larrabbe and also at a modified version of the Synergistic Processor unit but the reports have declared that the main focus is on new designs centered on multi-core CPU. Many other companies like Microsoft is also looking at a new console CPU technology but we all have to wait to see which one has succeeded or not. The Japanese claim has shown that it takes around 24 months to produce new consoles and they might be coming till late 2012 and 2013. The trend has shifted towards new handheld consoles and it is expected that the developments of next year might  see such changes.
