Features:
Available in two decent colors silver and black; XPERIA XI is a nice slider smart phone with a full QWERTY keyboard, yet a compact and solid piece. It has a nice metallic finishing, giving it a fine look. The 3 inches Touchscreen offers a deep resolution, showing crisp and lively display. The interactive panel interface allows users to customize their cell phone according to their own like and dislike. There are nine available panels to choose from, including Sony Ericsson (two variations), Google, 3D Fish, Xperia Radio, and Media Xperience. This is fun with functionality. Users can choose what gets displayed on Today screen and what widgets should be shown thereon. Other panels can be downloaded from third party developers’ websites.
Below the display, there are certain keys including two soft keys, call and end call, Panel and okay, plus an optical track pad. Keyboard is exposed when the user slides the phone towards right. It is a swift motion and screen tilts at an easy to view angle. Keyboard is nicely spaced and easy to use.
Phone runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition, and the user gets MS Office Mobile Suite, MS Direct Push Technology, and automatic synchronization with Outlook calendar, tasks, and contacts via Exchange Server. Browsing is done through IE Mobile or Opera Mobile Web Browser, plus there is Google panel. Other features include a camera, streaming media player, podcast support and FM radio.
Product’s Unique Selling Points:
Customizable interactive panel interface
Full QWERTY keyboard
Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition
Wireless connectivity
Limitations:
Very expensive
Difficult to use navigation keys
Tolerable web browsing
Final Words:
This phone is packed with some great features, though most of those are available in almost every Windows Mobile Phone. Also, the high price tag makes it more than a consumer product, and it becomes more like a luxury item.
