Sky News unleashes new app for iPhone

ITN’s news app got tremendous success on the iPhone, and how one could expect that looking all that Sky News wouldn’t go for it. Yup, the broadcaster has decided to unleash its free app for the Apple handset.

Well, with this new Sky News app, iPhone users will be able to get breaking news with their videos and text images. There have been given seven different categories that also include a well-known strange section in which you would find dazzling reports on loads of topics and could enjoy things like Great Cat Video.

However, ‘Your report’ button is really the USP of this new app and with this button citizen journalists will be able to offer their content to the channel, but don’t be pleased anymore, as you would get nothing for it.

According to Sky, media Exec Produce, James Weeks, “We are happy that the video capabilities of this new app for iPod and iPhone have come up as another first to Sky New Viewers.”

“This app has taken considerable time for development and we are quite sure that iPhone users will find it quite up to the mark and the same way which Sky News viewers and web users could expect.

“We hope that iPhone users will send us loads of news and pictures and that will prove quite effective to boost our reputation as the first bringer of the breaking news, no matter where you are.”
