It is hard for the little Computer Producers to strive for their survival in the presence of bog bombshells as Dell, Apple and HP. This isn’t the case with gaming PCs. In this sector, small producers can, and are making progress and development with high quality gaming PCs possessing awesome graphics and wonderful performance. Today, we shall discuss two gaming PCs; one by the monster Dell, and the other one by an independent PC maker CyberPower.
Dell’s XPS 625 and CyberPower’s Gamer Ultra Perseus are two gaming computers. By comparing both the systems, we get to know about the major trends that are followed by both giant companies and independent PC makers. Approaches followed by both kinds are at contrast to each other. This is why; we see a big difference in both types.
First of all, we shall discuss about the design phenomenon. Major manufacturers focus on the design and overall look, whereas this is not the first priority for smaller manufacturers. If we look at XPS and Perseus side by side, we shall notice that Dell has put a great deal of effort on the designing of its PC by utilizing abundant thick aluminum panels along with accurately engineered sleek plastics; resulting in a stylish looking system. On the other hand, there has not been put much thought onto the design of Perseus.
Secondly, major manufacturers are eager to introduce latest graphics cards in to their gaming PCs and other specs are not listed high on their priority list. On the contrary, smaller PC makers tend to give priority to other specs such as overclocking. Dell has used ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB, which shows its concern for graphics; whereas Perseus has Radeon 4870 1GB. As far as clock speed is concerned, Dell disappoints all of us with a mere 2.5 GHz frequency; whereas the Perseus has been overclocked by water cooling to a magnificent speed of 3.65 GHz. The difference is patent.
Core Matter; Dell is going to disappoint you again. Though it possesses an AMD Phenom quad-core CPU and Perseus has an AMD Phenom II triple-core chip; an extra core with XPX is of no use when the clock speed is 2.5 GHz and a missing core in Perseus won’t do any harm if it is overclocked to 3.6 GHz. You know, all that matters is the performance.
Other factors about gaming PCs to keep in mind are overclocking, cooling, graphics, sufficient memory, quicker hard drive, and upgradability. Keep these points in your mind while buying a gaming Pc, and forget about more cores, high price labels and grand brand names.
