A new gadget has been introduced by Sirona namely Cerec Ac. It comes with a bluecam. The Bluecam is helpful in seeing a view from angles that are difficult to see otherwise. It shows, “near inaccessible areas with the utmost precision.”

The Cerec Ac comes with a bluecam. It is made up with LED (light emitting diode) in blue color that efficiently lights up the mouth. This light helps the camera to capture the images.

It is a hand held device which also has built-in software which is sensitive to shaking. It automatically detects shaking objects and captures images. This camera features many functions such as the ability to capture more detailed inside view of the mouth which no other camera at present does.

Another remarkable feature of the camera is that it automatically captures the images without the user’s intervention. It saves time as well as effort to take a precise picture. The time frame in which the camera completes its function is: a full arch impression in just 2 minutes, and amazingly, half arch impression in just 40 seconds.

Michael Augins, President Sirona Dental Systems, LLC USA says, “CEREC AC uses advanced blue light LED technology to harness the full potential of digital impression taking. Thanks to Bluecam, capturing half-arch and full-arch impressions and then creating multi-unit restorations of the highest esthetic quality is a reality.”

Innovative development is an ongoing process. Dentistry is also one of the most progressive fields. Time and again new gadgets are introduced enabling dentists to attain the best results. With CEREC®, it is hoped that dentist will have a quick and accurate treatment to provide.
