Designwise, you may find the NC10 somewhat similar or between the MSI Wind and the Asus Eee PC1000, as it’s a 10.2-inch standard Netbook that doesn’t seem to break the mould. But still there is something that makes it the best Netbook so far, and what’s this let’s find out.
First of all, it is the first Netbook in this size that breaks the barrier of sub-£300 price tags. No doubt, this is one of the most assertively priced netbooks available in the market these days.
The Samsung NC10 comes in three colors i.e. blue, white and black. It looks quite crispy and compact in every color. It feels quite robust and sturdy in the hands. It weighs 1.3 kg with fitted six-cell battery, and at its mid-point it has 260x170x30mm measurement. However, on the whole depth, the battery extends nearly 5mm extra. Even somewhat more irritating thing is the balance of this robust machine that goes out and makes you feel heavier in the hand when you perch on your knee.
Spceswise, the NC10 has an N270 Intel Atom processor, 160GB HD and the memory of 1024MB. Its hard drive can be partitioned into two equal size portions. It has a pre-installed Windows XP that is quite easy to load and quick to boot and you can boot it in just 29sec. When it comes to performance, it runs basic tasks with a lot more ease and feels quite acceptable. When it comes to web-surfing and word processing, you would find it awesome in both these cases.
In almost all the available netbooks, the makers only load the basic installation of Windows; however, Samsung has done something unique by adding some nice applications like Recovery Solution III and Samsung Battery Manager.
Keyboard and the screen are considered the most important aspect in any Netbook and we can say that the NC10 is quite strong in both these department. Its 10.2” screen has a standard resolution of 1024×600 pixels that means you can view images in a nice and good size. It has a LED backlit panel that you can switch off and on in standard mode which feels quite bright. Its keyboard is the real thing that makes it stand out of the crowd. MSI Wind is being considered the most user-friendly in this connection, but now it seems that the NC10 has put the MSI at second place. It covers the whole width of 260mm available at the chassis and it is 95% full-sized keyboard. However, you find its touch somewhat small, but offer nice navigation.
The NC10 has nothing new in it, but it is the best netbook so far because it has all the proven good points of many other available devices and undoubtedly, it’s a great package at a very nice price.

Even though I’m writing this a few months after the post, and even longer after the initial release, it is amazong to see that the NC10 is actually one of the leading netbooks still. I think that’s down to a lack of innovation in the sector. A few of the competitors put out similar models but nothing really beats it.
