You may have watched many movies to know how people used to live in Rome thousands of years back, but now this time, it’s Google that will rebuild Rome (Though it can’t be built overnight) for you but this time digitally. We know well how dexterous Google is and can expect it would, indeed, a great help to find out how people would live thousands of years back in this revolutionary city.
It was ten years back when the construction of first Rome Reborn product was commenced and this mammoth task finally completed during the last year. To build this digital Rome, a scale model of 1:25 was used whose development took nearly 40 years. This model was created with Plaster of Paris and to create their virtual model they scanned plaster of pairs by laser scanners.
During the last year, this Rome Reborn project had to undergo many different phases and it was the time when Google offered its dexterity to add Rome Reborn in Google Earth.
This Rome Reborn 2.0 can be very helpful tool to those who are interested in the history of this revolutionary city. If Google Earth exists in your current system, you can easily enjoy a virtual trip to ancient Rome.
