A new kind of talking, walking and smiling female robots has just been showed off in Japan. These 95lbs (43kgs) electric models will soon debut in a fashion show, however, they have not been cleared for safety standards to go with human models in the catwalks. So, let’s see how long these electric women take to replace traditional skinny models on the ramp.
Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science is behind the development of these female robots. The govt.-backed organization says about the new development: “When it comes to technical functionalities, they haven’t attained a true high level yet, as many people related to fashion industry have told that these female robots are short and have somewhat ordinary figure.”
According to some developers these robots will be displayed in different amusement parks in the country as
well as for some events to draw attention and simulation for different human movements like exercise instructions.
The female robot has been named as HRP-4C and it looks much like an average Japanese woman, but with its sliver and black body it seems clad in a space suit. It is expected to appear in a fashion show in Tokyo, but with any clothes.
Japan is quite well-known for its robotics industry all around the world and the Japanese Govt. has been backing up the industry for quite long time and now the good results of this support have begun to emerge.
