Nokia, aspiring to be one of the few all pervasive worldwide companies, is expanding its tentacles to still left out areas. It has reviewed its previous policy of no touchscreen mobiles from Nokia, and has announced another touchscreen device, the 6208c specifically for Chinese market. The phone follows the 5800 XpressMusic and the N97 Finns type.
Now officially displayed on the regional Nokia website for China, The 6208c contains a stylus which is “inspired by bamboo slips and has perfect concordance with the large colour display which may remind someone of traditional”, said a Nokia official. The phone has handwriting recognition installed thus demanding for less amount of technical skill to operate.
A mighty 3.2 megapixel camera having autofocus and dual-LED flash is also on board. As earlier in doubt, now it is confirmed to be running Nokia S40 software, and will brandish a full alphanumeric keypad as well as a 2.4-inch touchscreen display optimized to write Chinese characters with a pen input.
The screen is optimized for Chinese character recognition, allowing the user to construct messages in the ‘most natural way’ without any particular skill.
The 3.2MP-toting, 8GB memory card-supporting, dual LED flash-wielding handset will hit select markets in 2009, so if this just happens to be anywhere in Europe we’ll let you know.
A fairly Oriental theme running through the product is because the 6208 is a handset being designed specifically for challenging Chinese touchscreen products.

This looks like a great release from Nokia. They are always know for their outstanding quality and the fact that it is released exclusively for the chinese market is a great decision. They can very well curb the production of fake nokia clones over there.
