New browser plugin for quicker and smarter search engine
WebMynd was launched as a Y Combinator company last year and now the company has launched its new plugin to make your searching experience a lot more efficient. This new plugin has been made available on IE as well as on Firefox that can boost search results on popular search engines just by placing a useful sidebar with associated search results from different other sites.
It wouldn’t be the first plugin for the browser to provide matching results from different other sites, however, the thing that makes up for a nice polished execution after inserting the plugin, the users can get support from search engines like Yahoo, Google and Live Search for their usual query. This new plugin will provide an array of small widgets at the very right of the screen and each will include some similar results of that query from different sites like Amazon, Digg and Twitter. You may take some time to get used to the inserted widgets, but you would find them amazingly useful in while using them regularly.
In the Firefox version, WebMynd’s well-known archiving technology has been incorporated that was the primary focus of the company at the time of its launch. The technology has been housed in the IE version, but it is expected that the IE will also house the same technology soon.
With this new archiving feature, users will be able to search via a complete history of the pages they have recently visited including their complete text. User will be able to turn off this feature during the initial setup of the plugin or some other chosen time.
According to WebMynd’s CEO, with its white-labeled plugin version, the company is planning to improve the new search and companies will also be able to set their search results as their default widget in the sidebar, but users will be free to customize these widgets for their favorite sites after getting it installed. You can see a branded version of this widget at Fluther.com and the company is also seeking for some other partners as well.
