The entertainment industry has also gone a notch higher by integrating entertainment products and technology. As part of technological change, the entertainment industry is taking the centre stage by storm in developing applications that are easy to be used by children and adults likewise.
A very good example is shape builder which has been developed by touch screen pre-school games. It encourages young minds to think and recognize the image to be formed, after seeing the silhouette image thinking and coming up with strategy to move the shapes into place to form the desired image.
It contains very many shapes that are to be arranged to form shapes that depicts music instruments, animals, fruits (e.g. mango, apple, banana, pineapple) objects and alphabetical letters.
This application has been developed with good sound effect which makes it more fun and engaging. The shape builder is used in such a way that it enables the user to move shapes onto their rightful place on top of a silhouette puzzle. Each puzzle has between five to ten pieces and after positioning all the pieces, the real image is revealed along with a professional voice recorder of the name of the image formed. The words have been developed by a speech therapist called, Jill Dews.
Shape builder, also teaches children to talk that is call images by names following the way it is pronounced by the sound therapist. Within the application there are various plat forms these are; 24 Music instruments with sound effects, 17 Fruits & Vegetables, 37 Animals – awesome sound effects, 26 Letters – speech therapist sounds out each letter in a fun way, 16 other fun items like Firetruck, and Police Officer and Random play resets after all puzzles are completed. It has been developed by Darren Murtha and Chris Lott.
