Firefox 4 vs. Chrome
It is hard to create a web browser that people love to use, is easy in handling and not prone to crashing usually. Whether it is Microsoft, Google or Mozilla, each of them is trying their level best to create better than before web browsers that can satiate users’ needs and expectations. Latest in this race are Mozilla Firefox 4.0 Beta, Google Chrome 5, and Microsoft Internet Explorer 9. In this article, I will discuss Firefox and Chrome in a way of comparison so that you can understand their pros and cons, and features in detail. Though you can judge them well only after using by your own self, but this article is intended on giving you brief account of both web browsers so that you can choose which one is the best option for you. In this article, I will discuss Firefox features, Chrome features and Firefox add-ons.
The new Firefox is indeed a better and enhanced version which offers improved user interface and nice, changed looks. Firefox is one browser that forced our old slow chap MS Internet Explorer to start thinking of enhanced, new versions. If Firefox had not done it, we would still be playing with dear old IE6. When the competition began, Firefox was ahead of the IE; situation is different now. IE8 has left Firefox behind and IE itself has been left far behind by today’s best web browser; Google Chrome 5.
Chrome might be the simplest browser of all, and beauty lies in this very fact. What happened with Firefox is that the makers filled it with every possible feature and this made the browser slow down and become crash-prone. This has certainly changed in Firefox 4 beta.
Firefox has changed browser tabs’ place; now they are on top of the navigation toolbar. In windows, this feature comes by default whereas Mac and Linux users have to select the option manually from View menu – Toolbars – Tabs on Top. Also, Firefox 4 beta add-ons manager has been integrated into the browser, but the service is still under construction; i.e. the add-ons manager has been programmed to open in a tab instead of a separate window as it used to do. The lesser windows opened, the lesser clutter on your screen.
The OOPP (out of process plug-in) is an answer to our supplications! How many of you hated Mozilla when Firefox crashed during your most important research work, or an important assignment / project? The fatal problem has been solved now (as far as we have been told). The faulty website opened in a tab won’t take the whole window down with it but only that very tab. Therefore, you can keep on doing your work with ease without interruptions. (This is another matter that we would highly recommend a browser which assures us no crashing in the middle of our important tasks. After all we believe in these web browsers and this is why we use them. It’s their obligation to provide us with flawless versions.) Other nice features include native support for Google’s open WebM video standard as well as enhanced support for HTML5.
Now as far as Chrome is concerned, it is way better than any other web browser because of its features. One of the Chrome’s nice features is that each tab is independent of the others opened in same window. If one tab has slowed down, it has no impact in the others. Best of all features is its speed! Chrome is faster than its competitors when it comes to page loading. Its layout is as simple as it could be; tabs on top, address bar beneath it and bookmarks in the third row. On the right side, there are two icons under which all the important functions and features lie; a page icon to control the current page (cut, copy, paste, save, find, print, zoom etc) and a wrench icon for customizing Chrome (downloads, history, full screen, new tab, new window etc.) Set your preferred home page or otherwise, you will like the default home page with thumbnail images of frequently visited pages. History shows title of the visited page and not the URL.
Overall, Firefox 4 beta is a really improved and enhanced version of the browser, but still it is way behind Chrome. Chrome is indeed best performer of all.

You said that Chrome loads pages faster than Mozilla right? But it is wrong!
I did the experiment and only testify to what I say, the addition of 3.6 Mozzilla open faster, loads pages faster too!
When you say that Chrome is the fastest and best browser, completely disagree!
Mozilla the best browser ever ..
Chrome is better? Ever, if only in your head ..
