Motorola boss Sanjay Jha told in an interview that their new phones would be available with Windows Mobile7 in 2010.

Jha told that their company was still quite committed to Windows Mobile, the Windows 6 series would remain available throughout 2009 and when comparing it to Android, it would be a lot more competitive in 2009 and most parts of our efforts to revolve around Android during this year. However, in 2010 when Windows 7 will be out there, we will definitely focus on Windows Mobile 7.

On the other hand, Microsoft spokesperson declined to comment on Jha’s statement and said that they had nothing to announce yet.

Back in September, there were some reports which suggesting that Microsoft had informed its partners that they shouldn’t expect Windows Mobile 7 till the second half of 09. Jha’s current statement seems to suggest that the deadline has been further pushed back.

Microsoft sparing no effort to develop this next version of Windows Mobile to make devices able to rival iPhone likes of devices. Advanced gesture recognition is being hyped as one expected feature in the new version and unlike iPhone it may use camera to read gestures. According to the software maker, soon there would be more news regarding OS, mobile services and partner.
