Motorola FlipOut

Motorola has made few Android phones before, but none has got the appreciation HTC does for its Android phone sets. HTC is indeed the leading mobile phone manufacturer with great Android phones. At last, Motorola has tried a bit hard and made a phone set that is trendy, smart and Android based. The new Motorola FlipOut has a smart design that has never been used before in any Android based phone set. This is the first Android phone by Motorola that is getting recognition and appreciation.

Before reviewing the phone set, le us have a look at its specs.

Features:

The first noticeable thing about this phone is its tiny size and compact form. This phone fits into one’s hand without any difficulty at all. It is easy to put it in your pocket and move around comfortably. FlipOut flips and we can see that it is joined with the lower pane via a hinge on a corner. This hinge has to be strong or otherwise it will be a big concern for the company. The keyboard has five rows which have been slightly raised as to offer easy typing. There is a separate row for numbers which indeed pleases us. There’s a D-pad in the lower part of keyboard that allows cursor moving.

As we all know that Android is a power hungry and non-energy efficient system. Thus, the small size of FlipOut’s battery concerns me. A great and genius feature of the phone is that its media player knows what song is being played and it (tries to) display the lyrics along with the song itself. You get seven customizable home screens as well. Camera is just okay; it takes photos and you should be thankful for this!

Product’s Unique Selling Points:

  • Nice compact size
  • Customizable social networking apps
  • Genius media player
  • Unified address book
  • Swappable covers

Limitations:

  • Small screen
  • Average camera
