Getty Images owned iStockphoto is going to announce today some great additions in its network with its huge 30,000 audio tracks collection that has been named as iStockaudio. This announcement was partly made last year, but now it has been expanded with some bigger audio licensing offering.
In this standard iStock audio collection, more than 11,000 royalty free and consumer generated sound effects, sound tracks of more than 500 artists as well as more than 18,000 single-production music tracks have been included. Royalty free tracks are still being offered at $2 per track and there is no change in pricing yet.
It was in June 07 when Pump Audio (indie music agent) was purchased by Getty Images and it began to offer music tracks after some time having the brand name Soundtrack. And now at SXSW Music Festival, guys from Getty images have decided to expand that brand with some considerable addition of 30,000 single productions, royalty free sound tracks.
Right now, iStock is calling itself the first company that will offer stock imagery, vector illustration, video footage, Flash files as well as audio for buying under on site payment model.
How long these new offers and expansions prove effective for the company? Well, we will have to wait for the SXSW festival next year with the hope that these guys will share their figures about revenue and growth numbers at that time.
