The Robot Maker iRobot has announced its financial figures for the year 2008 today and hence has made a prediction that the sales of military robots will augment in the year 2009. The robot manufacturer has also revealed that the company’s government and industrial business has grown more than 50 percentages in the last quarter as compared to the previous year and that makes its revenue to be more than $305 million.

The local robots such as the gutter-scouring robot called Looj and the other robo-cleaner called the Roomba 500 were the ones that led the international sales to go double every passing year; however it’s the military sector that makes the iRobot predict the best possible growth. iRobot has already been given a reward of $2 million by the US congress in order to develop the Warrior 700 by the company which is a powerful yet a strong robot that could be used in danger zones as well as the inaccessible regions.

The Warrior 700 will be set up to carry out a selection of significant missions, together with providing real-time video, audio and sensor readings to fight troops and other SWAT teams. The robot is made up of an advanced digital architecture and a chassis that can support the payloads up to 68kgs.
