Intel has been always famous in the Smartphone and laptop’s industry because of their amazing and powerful chips they had earlier designed; now the company has announced a chip package based on the Atom Z6XX that is just a cool breeze for the future SmartPhones and tablet PCs. While discussing about the new Moorestown series the company said that this new 45nm processing platform offers quite improved power consumption as compared to its predecessors.
The tablets PCs are one of the hottest trends of nowadays computer markets and bringing some powerful device for such devices will surely be the great profit earning source for Intel. The company has not yet confirmed that which of the portable device developers will get this new awesome chip. Rob O’Shea, Director of Intel’s EMEA Embedded Group while discussing about this new development said that “The second-generation Atom also scales very well up to tablets…you’re going to see a number of different ways these products will be used”.
This new development of Intel technology is bringing a great competition for ARM and while discussing about this issue, Shreekant ‘Ticky’ Thakkar, the chief platform architect for Intel’s Ultra Mobile Group said that “If you have something that doesn’t deliver performance, it’s easy to shove it into a phone” and further “ARM doesn’t need to produce the ‘aggressive power management’ of Moorestown because ‘they don’t have performance in that class’”. The company also claims that the two different versions of such chips will be available in the markets in the future and from the features discussed it can be expected to be a blusterous hit.
