Intel announces extensive price cuts on some processors

On Sunday, Intel announced an extensive (up to 48%) price cuts on some of its chips across its Core 2 Duo, Core2 Quad, Celeron, Xeon and Pentium dual-core product lines.

Different quad-core processors like the Q9650 were focused mainly for this price cut that saw 40% decrease from $530 to $316. However, the biggest was seen in the prices of Celeron processors, as the Celeron 570 for mobile saw the biggest slash from previous $134 to current $70.

Similarly, considerable price cuts have also been announced for Xeon chips. For example the price of the Xeon X3370 (3 GHz) was reduced 40% from previous $530 to $316.

The price of the dual-core E5200 was cut 24% from previous $84 to $64. Intel has also uncovered some new models of chips including the Core 2 Duo E7500 (2.93GHz) with the price tag of $133.
