While working on your PC you might be experiencing some odd sounds coming from the CPU, these are actually the warnings from your PC that it has carried lots of dust in the fan and needs to get cleaned, actually the cause of noise might be some other but this is the one that mostly happens. In our homes we can’t have a complete dust free environment the household dust always remains there which carries human skin and its amount varies from person to person and area to area.

Along with the skin the dust may contain pet hairs, pollens, plants seeds and broken down insect parts which can badly affect the unsealed parts of your PC and the most obvious of them is the fan which throws out the hot air to keep the internal environment cool and takes in the fresh air. Luckily there are many products available at affordable prices to keep your PC protected from dust and in this article I am going to discuss a way by which you can keep dust away from your PC.

  1. First of all look for some filter material for your PC which would be easily available on any electronics shop. The filter material is used for screening dust in a vacuum cleaner filter pad as it is designed expressly for this function. The filter pads should be cut to fit your PCs proper size so that they can protect it fully. The filter material is also available in sheets so you can buy them in a very cheap price. The selection of Pad could be made on your choices and preferences but always keep in mind that are they satisfying the needs for which you have bought them?
  2. Now hold that filter in a place and for that there are some ready-made holders for the filter material in the form of J shaped plastic extrusion otherwise you can also hold the filter material by sticking it at some certain place. Now measure the size which you need to hold the filter material in your PC and cut it into length with a craft knife. You will also see that in much of the cases the two strips placed at the top and bottom of the filter will work best but a single stripe is sufficient for small areas.
  3. You can cut a cardboard as a template according to the size and length of ventilation holes in your PC. Now lay this cardboard on the filter material and cut it in according to that and then affix that filter on the already measured area. You can fit to the fan ports on power supplies and hold them in place by some screws.
  4. Once you have cut the filter material according to the size of area to be covered then fitting it is not a big deal. Stick some kind of extrusion strips on the top and bottom and then place the filter material in between them. Filter can be placed inside or outside the case according to your convenience. Thus adding filters will reduce air flow as compared to open vents.
  5. You can’t change the fan of your PC every three months but the filter can be removed daily and even replaced in almost 10 minutes, all you have to do is to cut the filter material according to size and then affix it on its place and your PC will be protected from dust.

These were some very convenient ways to make your PC dust free and you can really perform this procedure in some minutes so this kind of care should be provided for your PC if you want to overcome that annoying noise created by your PC’s fan.
