Hitachi’s DZ-BD10HA model comes under the category of one of the most hybrid camcorder which also offers an excellent quality of video, produces brilliant quality of photos, and multiple recording formats with an ease of operation.

It is a Blu-ray camcorder which provides support to the users in many preferable formats. This is really a cool feature and very convenient too. It is able to record full High-def video of 1,920×1,080 to 3-inch BD-R/RE discs in to a built-in 30GB hard disc drive or to SD/SDHC cards. You can also record video to 3-inch DVD-R/RW discs. The 30GB in-built hard drive space enables this hybrid camcorder to record video of up to 4 hours and 20 minutes at the resolution of 1920×1080 or 8 hours and 40 minutes at the resolution of 1440×1080.

It has 7 Mega Pixel 1/2.7” CMOS Image Sensor, because of which the camcorder is capable of capturing the high definition video that can able to record the video at 1920×1080/60Hz and the still photographs at 6.22 mega pixels.

Hitachi uses its exclusive High Resolution Image Processing technology LSI which is capable to effectively evaluate the huge volumes of data which is being captured by its 7 Mega Pixel CMOS image sensor. It reduces noise and improves the quality of the picture by delivering most vibrant colors to it.

This Hitachi model comes in relatively compact pack. It weighs little more than a pound and measures 3.1 inches wide and 5.5 inches in depth.

Maximum controls of the camcorder lies on the back side of the optical drive, just falls under the right thumb. On the top, there is a zoom rocker offering the 10x zoom lens providing the shutter release which takes 6-megapixel still photos. On the back corner there is a switch for shooting video and still pictures along with 3 activity lights for different modes of storage. Also there lies an on/off/mode toggle and a switch to eject for BD/DVD drive.

There is a one-touch dub button on the body for initiating the file transfers mainly to these 3 types: from hard drive to an SD card, hard drive to a BD/DVD disc, and from a card to a BD/DVD disc. One nice thing about this camcorder is that you can also create your own highlighted reel by selecting the highlighted scenes.

You will find buttons for the playback, SD card slot, and buttons for activating face detection on the top of the camcorder. The face detection technology automatically detects faces which bring out the true skin tones and clarity by focusing, and auto-adjusting exposure in backlight conditions. Camcorder also has a photo flash. For the output, it can be connected to the USB, composite AV jacks, or a mini HDMI component.

The optical image stabilizer technique helps the camcorder to automatically detect and then cancels the camera shaking. It effectively stabilizes the lens which produces sharpest and most vibrant picture.

It quickly starts and ready for recording in less than a second from a standby mode. This is also helping the camcorder to consume less power. It has a widescreen 2.7-inches LCD panel display for easy viewing of the video.
