Google Waves

You might have heard about Google Wave that was a real time collaboration tool by Google, unfortunately due to some reasons Google has planned to completely end this application. From the start of this application, Google had many expectations with this but unfortunately it failed to come up to that and that’s why Google is now ready to say it Goodbye.

Google blog has shown this news today and according to that “Wave has not seen the user adoption we would have liked. We don’t plan to continue developing Wave as a standalone product, but we will maintain the site at least through the end of the year and extend the technology for use in other Google projects.”

The wave was actually launched in 2008 and then a beta version took place in 2009. In the blog post by Hölzle, Senior Vice President, Google Operations, this thing was stated that “Wave has taught us a lot, and we are proud of the team for the ways in which they have pushed the boundaries of computer science. We are excited about what they will develop next as we continue to create innovations with the potential to advance technology and the wider web”.

The Wave was though a perfect project released by Google but may be due to lack of information or guidance provided for its usage, people didn’t get impressed with this tools and eventually the company had to shut it down.
