Google has made a variation in its policy of AdWords allowing trademarks to appear in keyword ads. This is a huge revision made by the company and will deliver better experience and enhanced AdWord usage. The brand names are to appear in AdWords copy.
From Friday, Google will begin accepting new ads with trade mark terms, but these ads are not going to show up immediately, rather they will be appearing online not before 11th June. Dan Friedman, a member of the Inside AdWords crew, has informed on Thursday about this news on a company blog.
Moreover, it is said in the blog that this step has been taken in order to enhance user experience. The company has been trying hard to adjust its trade marks policy in the United States for permitting few of the ads to show their trade mark in the ad text. As Google tries to adjust its trade mark policy on these lines, it will come closer to the industry standards regarding this issue.
Also, it is being permitted to use trade marks that are not owned by the ad owner, or that are allowed for him/her to use explicitly by the trade mark owner in order to narrowly target ad text to emphasize precise inventory.
For instance, there is a website that puts handbags up for sale manufactured by various brands. Before, it was not possible to highlight the specific brand it wanted to talk about in the ad; now that website will be allowed to create multiple ads each featuring single brand with the trade mark.
This will make things easier for the search makers as well as sellers. Indeed, this is a fine step taken by Google.
