Global Warming Effect

The weather scientists worldwide are increasingly hysterical alarms. They seem to ignore basic human nature and needs. When given a free hand they will soon ban humans breathing too. Statistically billions of humans breathe in a good chunk of oxygen and hale out about half as nitrogen and carbon dioxide.

The scientist’s predictions as they come true will change the face of the earth and lifestyle of humans.  The living habits will change and leisure time workouts will alter.

Global warming cannot be ignored. The alarm raising has become a posture of a few knowledgeable ones. They should also direct the efforts where needed. The worldwide statistics show that culprit gases/emissions come from Europe 20%, USA 60% and the rest of the world combined about 20%. The “Go Green” campaigns are directed towards the third world mostly. Any positive responses here would not produce a net effect of ones 3% due to limited resource. This 3% cannot stitch the gone layer, but will adversely affect the 70% of population living there.

The Carbon Cap-and-trade strategy can be most effective when USA and Europe, the developed and resourceful world, use their resources to cap their waste gases. Even if they succeed halfway, 40% of emissions generated will be cut. This reduction will mend the OZONE layer much quicker and save the third world population’s irregular and uncertain livelihood. The Giant Nations need to feel responsibility on Global warming after effects.

1. Ski/Mountain Resorts

The climate scientists have set alarms ringing around the ski world by their predictions on the after effects of Global warming. The snow clad high peaks will stay but the white sheet covering the mountain ranges would vanish. The glaciers will melt down leaving valleys bare and may be with some growth.

Snow skiing will become impossible. The snow resort lovers may stay contest on snowless sites. The ski enthusiasts may well prefer water skating instead. Mountain hiking would continue no matter what happens.

The mountain resort and park owners have now become advocates of “Green Campaigns”. All leading resorters worldwide are pondering over adverse circumstances to come and new feature strategies to adopt. Quite a few are already considering alternative businesses while the sun shines.

When these predictions come true then those living in 2100 would miss white snow clad unending landscapes and killing snow peak scaping. Just as the present generations missed awesome Dinosaurs Era.  Being ignorant they would never grasp the real score and the summiting joy.

2. Global Warming Sets Alarm for – Meat Producers

The United Nations body on global Warming, in coordination with Agriculture Association concluded that 18% Greenhouse Gas is generated by meat industry, with major portions of it being attributed to live stock rearing.

The manure releases nitrous oxide while the larger animals like cows; emit methane gas in their fasts and lumps. They also convert the energy consumed in growing the fodder, corn etc., and the transportation emissions during animal and food movement.

They are already debating the industries future. The possibilities of some laws or regulations could be underway in some form. The curbs on limiting meat production would be very difficult to launch without providing the Protein alternatives within the same cost structure. The legislators are conscious of the fact that over 80% of the world population is meat consuming, including the legislators. Momentarily it is difficult to understand how the majority will become vegetarian.

3. Energy

The worldwide energy resources are diminishing particularly in the third world, which are now being forced to use coal and fossil-fuel or what ever is available. The energy use cannot become totally eco-friendly unless the less developed nations are also put on board. The scientists should stress this point in the United Nations debates for optimum results.

The new eco-friendly technologies that are being developed are a bit costly. These will replace the old order fossil-fuels that still remain the cheapest option. The developed world is the largest consumer of energies and also the largest emitter (80%) of waste gases. They could afford easy switch over to new modes of safe energy. Once they convert, the unhealthy emissions will reduce and global warming will subside drastically. This tremendous reduction will leave room and give adequate lead time to the undeveloped third world countries to afford steady changeover to eco-friendly means of energy.

Climate legislators seem all out to force a Carbon Cap-and-Trade system. Us congress is also contemplating over the energy lorus. The EPA also seems very anxious to regulate the Carbon policy even without the legislation help. This may undermine third world’s positive efforts to cooperate.

4. Forestry

Global Warming scientists are predicting more frequent wildfires and longer draught periods. Dense forests, on the other hand attract rain and draught. Today maximum rainfall is found in tropical forest areas. To some forests are also endangered.

The better side of forestry is that it counters global warming. Forests are literally carbon dioxide sinks. The pro advocate that more forests should be grown to help eliminate carbon dioxide at ground levels instead of more difficult and cost heavy experimentation high up. All kinds of vegetation in and outside cities perform the same function.

All should encourage and maintain greenery in their own interest.

5. Insurance

The Insurance companies are the most worried. Lloyd’s of London, the biggest of the reinsurance in the world. Lloyd’s 2006 report titled “Adaptor Bust” has sent chills down the insurance sector’s spine. They claim that natural disasters have killed more people and caused maximum property damage. With global warming rampart and potential frequent hurricanes combined with rising sea levels could play havoc with insurance industry.
The insurance sector had so far ignored the danger. There are no direct specific links of climatic upheavals with global warming. The climate scientists continued predictions of draught and high seas have caught their attention at last. The Insurance sector as a whole is initiating a joint effort launch incentives to combat global warming.

6. Mining

The mining business does not face any direct danger from global warming as such. Except that in increased drought, the high temperatures may make digging difficult at great depths. All the supposed dangers come as a result of other factors misperforming.  However its biggest danger is from legislators and governments who may enforce the Carbon Cap-and-trade system or imposed limitations on emissions.

The Canadian remote mountainous regions have hard snow flattened as roads that provide truck approach to otherwise inaccessible rocky valleys and deeps. Melting ice in Arctic would prompt re-building of long distance roads that could make remote area mining unworkable and costly.

The forest fires also disturb more operations like Utah forest fire suspended work in Dear Trail Mine. Similar instances can be cited worldwide. The miners are also in support of efforts to curtail global warming.

7. Wine

The wine markets and grape growers have also become alive to global warming.  The grape grows best in Mediterranean climate. The most favourable areas for good crop are California, Spain, Chile and France. The climate scientists have disturbed the piece of mind too. Hot climate damages this delicate fruit. The Spanish are brewing their centuries old vineyards and are moving upwards on Pyrenees Mountain Slopes.

When the temperatures around Mediterranean go up, the now cooler places may become new vineyard centers soon. PNAS study forecasts that land suitable for grapes could be reduced to half of the present area cultivated.

8. Fishing

Global Warming could adversely endanger the fishing systems and fish dynamics. The high sea levels will make small boat fishing difficult. This may be restricted to big launches affair only. The high rising waves will also alter coastlines by erosions and sand piling. This will also effect the wildlife and fish hatcheries existing all along the shallow sea.

There is a big danger to fresh water species of fish etc., being washed into sea by the ice-melting excess flow – the Solomon fish could finish. The Australian Government has released a study on rock lobster. The lobster cherishes urchins, which will dislocate by warming of coastal waters. Less urchins will not support lobster generation that will endanger livelihood of many thousands. The global warming is poised to take big toll of fish and wildlife in the sea.

9. Tourism

Tourism is totally based on travelling. The tourists travel around the four corners of the world to physically experience the uncountable variety of wild and marine life on the coastal islands and landscapes created through ages. They get the first hand view of the cottage industries and the craftsmanship of the less fortunate ones and observe how mother nature takes care of its creations.

Travel and emission go together. The weather scientists intend to hit fragile and joyful tourism hard by their alarms.

The rising sea levels will submerge beautiful Maldives Islands (Garland). Their new home may not be tourist conducive. The worldwide snow clad resorts will vanish. The large marine life variety may change of Hokkaido, Japan. No ice floats, the Russian Sea Eagles and dolphins will become less frequent. The high crest waves will be constant danger to seaside swimming and resorts.

The estimates projected indicate that travel for tourism will reduce drastically. This could become more or less a local affair.
