As the demand for PC and mobile phones is increasing at an enormous rate, Gartner has increased the revenue forecast for its global chip as according to them the demand for chips has also increased. This increased rate has affected the market’s sale rate but not to a much extent. Gartner’s profit has been considered as doubled after than break-through.
Some of the market researcher are of the view that the revenue will reach $226 billion this year which is 11.4 % low than the last year which was $255 billion. The Revised figure is an improvement over the previous forecast by Gartner calling for a drop of 17.1 percent to $212 billion.
News is that Gartner has also raised the projection for 2010 by saying that the chip revenue will rise up to 13% to $255 billion. As the researchers have previously forecasted 10.3 % growth next year which was about $233 billion. This indicates that Gartner has raises the outlook of its chip for the 2nd time in less than three months. But despite all this good and positive news Lewis has warned that recent industry checks are indicating that PC orders may be slowing down earlier than expected and also that the coming year 2010 might get off to a very slow start.
