Design and layout
The green colour is what adds beauty to the web site. All the contents and links are placed in a slight white background, which makes it easy to view and navigate. The three-column style is also unique for a gaming website like ganmedev. The logo fits well into the banner, which is itself quite attractive with its green shades. Just fixed into the banner are the main links and down below there is the search tab. The design and lay out shows all professionalism needed for a gaming website.

The site is rich in content with daily news, articles, forums, book reviews, product reviews, contests, job listings and regular columns. Gamedev.net also contains many tutorials for hobbyists and professionals, focussing on computer programming.
Gamedev.net also offers the opportunity to exchange ideas and information with other game creators. The information is always updated, which helps to know the latest happenings in the gaming world.
The “Features” section has links to Games Jobs, Products Reviews, Contests and GD Showcase. The “Resources” have links to Articles, Columns, Books, For Beginners, Game Dictionary and Wiki. Forums, GD Gathering, Online Chat and Workshops make the Community section. There is also a Members link in the navigation bar.
Even without going to the main link in the navigation bar, one can directly got to the various links, which are well placed to the left column. There is also a section for the upcoming events in this column. The mid column has all the latest news, which is continuously updated. This column also features reviews and it has a News archives down below.
The Recent threads in the gaming world are placed at the top of the right hand column. One can read through the latest books on Games from the Featured Book section. Down below there is the DnetPoll.
