There are some types of technology that are designed to sweep people off their feet. Some technology has completely overtaken what used to be thought of as the greatest of human innovations.
One of the technological products that have taken the world by storm is the iphone. When it was first introduced into the market, few people even dreamt of the impact it would make on the touch phone business world. It has turned out to be a game changer, selling 50 million units all over the world. Since it was released in 2007, the iphone has been able to grab 1% of smartphone market globally.
Another chat topping game changer in the world today is sensor technology. A sensor is a wonder of technology, it can connect with a network from anywhere on anything. One inventor by the name Hewlett-Packard is working on a sensor known as Central Nervous System for the Earth. This sensor will be used to sense and report any unusual situations within a city. Some people believe that such monitoring of infrastructure will be necessary to prevent accidents and probably save money and lives in case of a catastrophe.
Two companies, Qualcomm and Kovio are in the process of developing sensors that have never in use before. Kovio is particularly developing an impressive wireless chip that has circuits that can be printed out. These chips can work with mobile phones to network and communicate with objects not near you.
The Smarter Web is another of those technologies that have taken the world by storm. It is know in some parts of the world as the Semantic Web. This technology enables you to share complex internet information without much of a hassle. A Part of Mozilla Firefox called the CoScripter has been developed by the IBM research team. The scripts used by this program are quite easy to understand because they use common language formatting. You do not have to be a programmer to understand what is going on, making it easy to share with other people on Facebook, Myspace and other social networking sites.
Network virtualization is another piece of technology that cannot go unnoticed. This technology has made it possible to use a single server for multiple functions including serving different types of operating systems. The networks that operate from a particular server can support such transmissions that include cellular traffic, corporate data, and any type of communication which can be audio, video and telepresence.
Fuzzy searches have also left a mark in the world of technology. Fuzzy searches allow people to access a lot of information by just typing a few words into a search engine. This technology allows a broad-to-narrow search. Fuzzy searches are game changers because they make getting information easier than when relying on a search engine only.
Another of the famous game changers is the social network integration. Some people have come up with ways that enable you your data to be vied in multiple social networks at the same time. Such network integration is evident in Twitterfeed.com where all the information you post there is fed to other social networks. Other technologies such as palm Pre and WebOS are being developed to help unify all social networking.
However, all these big technologies are not so good after all. There is always a negative side to most of these human innovations. Take for instance the hybrid car and the energy it uses. This could pose a great danger to the environment if it is not checked. All in all, some of these game changers have clearly worked for the benefit of humankind.
