Free Mobile DTV Reaches Washington by Late Summers

Free Mobile digital TV is about to set off in the US, firstly at Washington DC reportedly. The digital TV will be broadcasted for mobile devices such as mobile phones, portable computers, and in-car entertainment tools. Broadcasting is expected to begin in late summers of 2009.
In the beginning, there are going to be 5 channels; CBS, NBC, PBS, lon, and a Fox owned independent channel. What kind of devices are going to be needed is still unknown. At the National Association of Broadcasters trade show in Las Vegas this week, Dell is expected to show a prototype net book with an inbuilt mobile DTV receiver, or an integrated MPH tuner. It is being said the Kenwood is preparing hardware need for mobile DTV to be used in the vehicles.
Why Washington DC has been chosen for setting off of mobile DTV? It is because this city is occupied by tech lovers, who are always after fresh news, both local and global. This service is going to prove quite useful in times of natural disasters as floods and hurricanes.
By the end of 2009, broadcasters will have covered more than 2 dozen cities of the US including NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Boston, and Atlanta; which amounts to 39% of US household.
