It was in 2006, when Cisco first began courting life-size media and entertainment companies and now after two years Cisco is ready to uncover a new product that will help the media companies to strap up social networking powers for their brands.

Cisco kicked off CES with the announcement of its new hosted software platform named as Eos. This new platform is expected to allow entertainment and media companies to develop, grow and mange online communities. To build and customize Websites easily, Cisco has assembled some nice technology tools in its Eos and an even friendlier interface has also been used. However, the most important thing is that it has been bundled into a technology that will be quite helpful for media companies to develop such interactive websites as makes it easier for fans to connect with TV shows, musicians, movies or some other brand that these companies want to promote.

Cisco first created its Media Solutions business unit in 2006 and it was its very first attempt to offer some assistance to big media companies. Then in February 07, the company came up with a startup known as Five Across.

According to Dan Scheinman, the Cisco executive at Eos, that this new platform has been designed to address some of those great problems that media and entertainment companies have to face nowadays.
The new service will offer such tools to media companies as help creating blogs, message boards, live chats, ranking and better rating systems
