Model: Canon EOS 5D Mark II
Model Highlights:
Canon’s new full frame EOS 5D is most popular now in the market. EOS 5D Mk II has come up with a major development from its last release. . It has a marvelous 21.1-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor with DIGIC 4 Image Processor. It has got a vast ISO range of 100-6400 along with the EOS technologies such as Peripheral Illumination Correction and Auto Lighting Optimizer. This model also supports the Live view HD videos, Live View shooting, and lots more. The maximum shooting range of 3.9 fps, have 9 AF points, and 6 AF assist points. The new viewfinder covers up to 98%. It has a 3.0-inch of LCD display.
Features:
Highest ISO Range
A high 21.1 megapixels CMOS sensor of EOS 5D Mark II delivers images up to 5616 x 3744 pixels. As this is a full frame camera, all lenses will give up the angle of view as if they would on a 35mm camera without any conversion factor. This feature is really handy particularly when you are shooting with wide-angled lenses. Even shooting in low light situations will also deliver excellent images because the model offers the highest ISO sensitivity till date. The ISO sensitivity in EOS 5D Mark II ranges from 100-6400 which is expandable to ISO L: 50, H1: 12800 and H2: 25600. It has new improved noise reduction technology, which basically produce unexceptionally smoother images even at the highest sensitivity.
HD Video Shooting with Live View Functionality
Cannon’s EOS 5D Mark II is the first digital EOS camera that offers the recording of Full HD video in a Live View Mode. It is capable to shoot clips for almost 30 minutes long at full HD (1080) resolution. Apart from making it only possible to shoot, it can also broadcast the best quality video on your camera just by changing the settings. Well, the advantages of moving it beyond the ability of shooting on your SLR camera, the advantages of a high-speed lenses and various accessories of shooting makes the EOS photography so great and to be use in a video shooting too. The video cameras having interchangeable lenses costs around thousands of dollars, but with the EOS 5D Mark II, the operation and the HDMI output feature gives an added advantage to this exceptionally rare camera.
State-of-the-Art Image Processing with Power and Speed
The EOS 5D Mark II’s sensor has a DIGIC 4 Image Processor, which is responsible for speeding up various operations which makes the new features possible. The Processor comprehensive operations such as HD video recording, Face Detection Live mode, and optimization of lighting and lens peripheral, all of these are made possible only due to this DIGIC 4 Image Processor. The model also offers a full 14-bit A/D conversion. The change in this technology from the previous one is that, now the analog output coming from the image sensor is converted into a digital signal through 14-bit conversion. In previous models it was a 12-bit conversion. The result of this change is remarkably smooth tonal gradation for finer prints results.
The DIGIC 4 Image Processor basically maximizes the performance between the capturing and the recording stages of a digital photography. The DIGIC 4 chips of Canon uses the advanced signal processing technologies to intensify the images captures from Canon’s CMOS sensors. The advanced algorithms processes helps in speeding up various operations like writing times to UDMA cards.
Cutting-Edge Autofocus
Canon’s EOS 5D Mark II uses a very advanced AF system which consists of a 9 user-selectable AF points. Along with it there is a total of 6 extra horizontal and vertical AF assist points. The AF point in its center is a cross-type; it is sensitive to horizontal lines at an aperture of f/5.6 and vertical lines at f/2.8. The AF system is sensitive to the light source too, so it compensates for any focus errors that may occur when there are multiple sources illuminating a single scene. AF points can also be selected by the photographer by the 5D’s multi-controller or by using the preferred control dial. EOS 5D also features one loyal AF ON button. The EOS 5D Mark II brings up new rigorous shutter design which can survive at least 150,000 exposures.
Live View Mode features
Live View Functionality on the EOS 5D Mark II will let you zoom in and even you can able to navigate to the composition of 5x or 10x of the normal size. Even the grid overlay is also there. The focusing modes in the Live View include Quick mode, Face detection Live mode, and Live mode. You can also make videos in Full High definition in the EOS 5D Mark II’s Live View. The frame rate for the shooting is 30 fps. The built-in microphone in the camera is used for recording the sound or else an external microphone can also be connected to the microphone input terminal of the camera. The playback modes are also available in the camera.
Very High Resolution Screen
The new 3.0 inch Clear View LCD display screen features a very high resolution 920,000 dots/VGA for extreme clarity. This much resolution was not there in any of the previous EOS Digital LCD. It basically enhances the usability; also the new water repellant and anti-reflection coatings make the screen more smudge-resistant and exclusively clear viewing surface. And the light sensor is mounted just below the screen; it enables the automatic brightness adjustment as per the ambient lighting conditions.
Full-Frame, Dust-Free Images
Canon has specifically designed the cleaning system for the full frame CMOS sensor of EOS 5D Mark II. The low-pass filter of the camera has a new fluorine coating on its surface that helps to repel any dust particles. If any dust that past the sensor cleaning system EOS 5D Mark II can be removed easily by the post processing by using the Dust Detection Delete function of DPP software. This software can easily removes dust spots from single or any multiple image files automatically.
The main thing is to minimize the dust from griping in to the facial surface of the imaging sensor. For fighting back this issue, the EOS 5D Mark II has a Canon-designed Self Cleaning Sensor Unit. This low-pass filter in the front of the sensor basically shakes off the dust automatically with the ultrasonic vibrations. This also contains special coating which resists dust from sticking to the surface of the sensor.
Shooting and Sharing is Easy
The EOS 5D Mark II has an E-TTL II flash metering system. With any EX Speedlite line flashes, the E-TTL II offers a very reliable flash output even if you are shooting with fill-in flash in a bright sunlight, or with flash in complete darkness.
