• Do you know that 80,000 components are assembled together to make a F1 car? Even though these components are correctly assembled with 99.9% accuracy, it will still start with 80 things wrong.

• The deceleration and the retardation experience by the F1 driver when he pushes the brakes can be felt as if a normal car driver hits a brick wall at the speed of about 300 kilometer per hour.

• The F1 race cars can go from 0 to 160 kph speed and then back to 0 speeds in just 4 seconds.

• There are more than a kilometer length of a cable attached to as many as 100 of its actuators and sensors. Those are for monitoring and controlling various parts of the car.

• On an average the driver of the F1 reduces near about 4kgs of his body weight if he goes for just 1 race. This is because of the long time exposure of the high G forces as well as the temperatures.

• A F1 car is about 550kg in weight which is near about ½ of the total weight of a Mini.

• Aerodynamic design and the added down force is very much important. Just for an idea, take an example of a small plane; you know that it takes off at a speed slower than that of a F1 cars when it is on track.

• F1 race cars generally race at more than 300 kmph. If we do not have the aerodynamic down force, even the great racing cars which have sufficient power to produce the wheel spin will ultimately loss control at about 160 kmph.

• The down force has a tremendous power. Even in any street course race, it provides enough suction which basically can lift the manhole covers. Therefore, before the commencement of these type of race all manhole covers on the streets are welded from down in order to prevent from this mishap from happening.

• The refuelers which are used in F1 are able to supply 12 liters per second of fuel. Let assume that an average family car of 50 liter can fully filled in just 4 seconds. Actually they are using the refueling rigs which are now days used on the military helicopters of US.

• The top crew members of F1 can do refueling and change the tires both in just about 5 seconds. Amazing!!

• Every tire looses its weight during the race. It looses around 0.5 kg because of the wear.

Always keep tire pressure gauge with yourself and check the tire pressure at least once in a month and more in case it is hot weather condition. You should always keep your tires inflated as recommended in the vehicle’s owner’s manual. Also check tires when they are cold.

To ensure maximum protection, please remember the following important points:

* There are liquid and spray waxes which are easily available in the market which is very easy to use and tempting too. No doubt, they can make your car shiny with less effort rather than rubbing the paste wax. However, there is no wax as good as the paste wax. Paste wax offers one of the hardest, and the longest-lasting finish to your car. Car wax paste with high carnauba wax content is very good. Try to get it from your near car accessories shop.

* In order to apply wax to your car, first of all apply a very thin and even coating of wax to the surface of your car with the help of a damp sponge. You should avoid applying too much of it, otherwise it will become difficult to remove it and any residue will surely damage the finish.

* And most importantly, you must avoid the fine scratches while waxing. For this, you must use very clean, soft cotton or a microfiber cloth to remove the wax when it has all dried out.

* At last, apply one extra coating of wax to its nose and hood because the wax film in these areas tends to wears away very quickly.

Well, you can also put a new self-adhering urethane films in order to protect you car’s most vulnerable painted areas from stone chips and other abrasions. Believe it or not but car washing is more essential in the winter months as compared to other months of the year.

The sand, slush, and the ice which is mixed with the salt on the road basically can cause rust to you car.

The corrosion occurs at a tremendously high rate when the temperature continuously rises and falls to freezing point.

Therefore it is highly advisable that you must at least rinse your car in these periods. Also make sure that you wash the undercarriage and to the areas which are generally difficult to reach such as the place in the wheel wells and the bumpers. These areas are very much susceptible to rust.

The work of the protectants is to resist the stains so that the upholstery becomes much easier for cleaning in the future.

Always choose the protectant which has conditioners in it to keep the leather supple.

Use the upholstery cleaners on the soiled seats. You can use the same upholstery cleaners that you may be using at home could also be used as the upholstery for your car.

However, use the cleaner sparingly in order to avoid any saturation on the fabric. You must wipe out any foam by using a clean cloth.

Regularly, brush on the fibers gently on the velour seats to keep the texture intact and to avoid matting of the fabric.

If the car seats are made up of a fabric, you must spray the fabric protectant on the seats as well as to the carpet. Fabric protectant like Scotchgard is helpful as it resists any stains or dirt, and makes it really easier to clean.

For precautionary measures, you must clean the fabrics before you use any of these types of products. Also you must test these products first on any hidden place to be very sure that these treatments are not going to discolor the fabric.

• You should not use any oil based product to wipe it like WD-40. The reason is that the oil will eventually damage the rubber.

• If you clean and treat the weather-stripping of your cars on a regular basis, it will lower the chances of sticking of your car to its rubber seal in winter months. It is the most common reasons which cause damage to your rubber.

• If by chance, your weather-stripping is already damaged and the rain water is leaking in its interior, take a keen look and find out whether it requires repair or need to be replaced.

• Remember, small leaks could be managed by the use of brush-on seam sealers.

• Also secure any loose sections even though it is not damaged with a trim adhesive. Any torn out sections could be repaired with caulking that you can get at various auto parts stores.

• Foam rods can be used for extending the life of any worn but intact sections. You will find the foam rods at different automotive stores.
