Asus has just stolen the whole Cebit 2009, by presenting some actually innovative and artistic mobile computing concepts; the Dual Touchscreen Flipbook, and the Fold/Unfold Laptop. Asus is Europe’s 3rd largest notebook manufacturer, following HP and Acer.
CEO of Asus, Jerry Shen talked about this new idea in a recent interview with Tech Radar. According to him, this innovative concept is developed jointly by a set of designers belonging to Italy, Korea and France. This Fold/unfold Laptop is soon going to enter its production stage, and is expected to be out in the market by the end of this year.
It is an interesting concept; enabling two persons to work on the same device at the same time. This laptop can be folded, and unfolded. It can be used as a laptop in its standard form, and can be unfolded and laid flat on a table. This is not the end; the concept also supports a multi-user mode, facilitating more than two users to work in collaboration. This is, indubitably, a magnificently unique and appealing concept.
This laptop, based on Origami, has been inspired from Apple’s super slim Mac Book Air. Mr. Shen stated that major aim in manufacturing this laptop was to produce a better ergonomic keyboard; to provide the user with a well equipped and best suited keyboard.
Asus has grown pretty speedily over the past decade. Eee PC brand has played the role of a catalyst in its growth. Fold/unfold Laptop seems to be a gadget which can further increase its manufacturers’ growth prospectively.
