AMD boss breaks the silence on spinoff deal

AMD’s Boss Dirk Meyer believes that his company is able enough to compete with Intel and other big players of the industry. He says that they are now focusing on more efficient processors for Netbooks and smaller laptops.

In a phone interview, Dirk broke the silence about the settlement of their deal for spinning off their manufacturing operations. According to this plan, AMD is going to be a chip design company and it will spin its operations off for a new unit known as The Foundry Company. AMD will get 34.2% share of this new company while the rest of to be owned by the Advanced Technology Investment Co which is an investment company of Abu Dhabi Govt.

“We have made all the requirements to close this deal and we will close all the transaction till Monday.”
