A Detailed Review on Nokia N Series

Nokia released its N series few years back, with an intention to create smart phones with entertainment and functionality both packed into one gadget. These devices support multimedia features as well as high speed wireless connectivity.
History:
On 27th April 2005, Nokia announced a new brand of multimedia cell phones at the press conference of mobile phone manufacturer in Amsterdam.
At the very conference, three mobile phones were introduced; N70, N90 and N91.
After some time on 2nd November 2005, three more phones were added to the list, which were N71, N80 and N92.
On 25th April, 2006, N72, N73 and N93 were announced.
On 26th September, 2006, N75 and N95 were added.
On 8th January 2007, N76, N77 and N93i were announced.
On 29th August 2007, next four phones were revealed; N95 8GB, N81, N81 8GB.
On 14th November, 2007, N82 was announced.
At the 2008 GSMA held in Barcelona, the N96 and N78 were unveiled.
In August 2008, the N79 and N85 were made public.
On December 2nd, 2008, Nokia Nseries announced the N97.
On February 17, 2009, Nokia announced the Nokia N86 8MP.
Features:
N series is designed to pack as many features as possible in to single device, and this is why it has been highly acclaimed by the users. Almost all the N series phones feature a nice camera with video recording, a media player, FM radio, gaming, wireless connectivity etc.
Key Features:
Style:
N series phones come in different styles and designs. Some of the most common designs are Candy bar, Clamshell, Slider, 2 way slide, and tablet.
Technology:
Only N72 features GSM, whereas N70, N71, N73, N75, N76, N77, and N90 feature GSM/UMTS. On the other
hand, N78, N79, N80, N81, N82, N85, N86, N91, N92, N93, N95, N96, N800 and N810 feature WLAN. Also, there is an N810 WiMAX edition.
Generation:
Almost all the N series phones belong to BB5.0 generation.
Camera:
Every N series mobile phone has a camera. The range varies from 2 mp, 2 mp Carl Zeiss, 3 mp, 3.2 mp Carl Zeiss, 5 mp Carl Zeiss, 5 mp Carl Zeiss dual LED flash, 8.0 Mp Carl Zeiss Wide Angle dual-LED flash and 0.3 mp webcam.
Operating System:
Basically, original and revised versions of Symbian OS 9 are used in N series mobiles. The newer tablets use Linux based Maemo.
N97:
N97 is a Touchscreen mobile phone, with a slide-out full QWERTY keypad, contained safely inside the sliding upper piece. It is the second Touchscreen phone by Nokia, first being 5800 Xpress Music.
N91:
The Nokia N91, made up of stainless steel, comes equipped as the first company smart phone, having a 4 GB hard drive, with a music player supporting mp3, m4a, AAC, and WMA formats. It also supports separate folders, playlists, etc.
N90:
The Nokia N90 is a clamshell mobile phone, having a rotational external screen. It uses glass optics by Carl Zeiss. The 2 mega pixel camera has a resolution of 352×288 pixels. Also, the phone features a video and still picture editor, and allows a two way video call by using the video capture facility in the device.
This is a series which addresses both the entertainment lovers and the corporate users, as it has both features packed into it. This is why it has been admired by people belonging to all walks of life.
